  • Patent number: 7229212
Abstract: A metallic flat plate base of a metallic component of a ball linear guide includes a pair of plate portions integrally connected with each other through a first flat plate portion and being formed with dovetail grooves which constitute loaded ball grooves. A first synthetic resin component is disposed so as to cover the flat plate, the first synthetic resin component having one sides which connect to a third flat plate portion to form slits, also having a pair of unloaded ball holes, and further having grooves for forming direction changing U-shaped passages which connect the loaded ball grooves and the unloaded ball holes. A pair of second synthetic resin components is mounted on the first synthetic resin component and closes the unloaded ball holes and the direction changing U-shaped passages, the pair of second synthetic resin components having other sides for forming the slits.

  • Patent number: 6000133
Abstract: A linear ball bearing mounting flange, which is provided on at least one end of an outer cylinder of a linear ball bearing and is used for mounting the linear ball bearing on a machine or apparatus. The flange includes a flange-shaped structure having a thick wall and provided separately from the outer cylinder. The flange-shaped structure has an annular recess extending from one end surface of the flange-shaped structure along the inner peripheral surface thereof; a peripheral wall on the inner peripheral side of the recess, which has a jagged structure in which projections and recesses are alternately arranged along the circumferential direction; and a claw projecting inward from the inner peripheral wall, which is formed at the leading end of each of the projecting portions of the jagged structure. When the flange is inserted around the outer cylinder of the linear ball bearing, the claws are locked in a claw insertion hole provided in the outer cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5980820
Abstract: A ball linear guide includes a ball-cyclic-running path composed of a loaded ball groove and a non-loaded ball groove, wherein said ball linear guide main body is of a single structure including: a dovetail groove having at both ends thereof an inlet and an outlet for balls; and a tunnel-like non-loaded ball hole being continuous to said dovetail groove with said inlet and said outlet being as both ends thereof. The tunnel-like non-loaded ball hole is manufactured by forming, around a tunnel-like core, an iron alloy containing about 0.85 wt % of C, about 0.3% of Si, about 0.3 wt % of Mo, about 4.0 wt % of Cr, about 5.0 wt % of Mn, about 6.0 wt % of W, about 2.0 wt % of V, and/or about 0.6 wt % of Ti. The ball linear guide allows smooth rotation of balls at a high speed with reduced noise, and also it exhibits a long service life. Further, in the manufacturing method, the number of parts and the number of working steps are reduced, and the assembly is easily performed without great care.

  • Patent number: 5458016
Abstract: A ball thread has a threaded shaft, a nut fitted over the threaded shaft with internal and external threads fitted in the same position, balls inserted into a groove formed with a combination of the threads of the threaded shaft and the nut, a return groove fitted to the nut in order to make the balls movable therethrough, and a flange for fixing the nut to machinery, apparatus or the like. A spherical collar centered around the axis of the threaded shaft is fitted to one end of the nut and the flange has a space having a spherical inner wall coaxial with the collar held in the space, the flange being allowed to swivel with respect to the threaded shaft. The ball thread further includes a means for fixing the nut to the flange in a given position and a means for preventing the nut from revolving with respect to the flange. The ball thread having the flange can be fitted to machinery, apparatus or the like, irrespective of its flange-fitting surface condition.

  • Patent number: 5230567
Abstract: A linear motion ball bearing having a ball bearing portion provided with an outer sleeve, a ball retainer fitted in the outer sleeve, ball bearings retained in a circulating passage formed in the ball retainer, and a flange portion for fixing the ball bearing portion to a machine or an apparatus. The ball bearing portion has an annular collar having a spherical outer surface around an end section thereof, and the flange portion has a hollow space defined by a spherical inner surface concentric with the collar. The ball bearing portion is adapted to swivel with respect to the flange portion so that an angle of inclination of a shaft, which is held in the ball bearing portion, with respect to, for example, a plane at which the flange portion is fixed to a machine or an apparatus can be arbitrarily set, thereby enabling the linear motion ball bearing to be fixed to a machine or an apparatus simply, easily and accurately.
