  • Patent number: 6412321
Abstract: Locking cylinder, particularly an electronic locking cylinder and with electromechanical rotational blocking in which the electronic key (64) has facing electrical terminals (66) on blade (65), and the rotating core (2 or 3) of the cylinder has an external annular track (6) that is electrically conducting and with its internal face communicates with an electrical contact (5) supported on terminal (66); whereas the external annular track (6) is supported in the electrical brushes (7) of external (2) and internal (3) rotors; there is a first modular box (8) on the inside of a cast hollow part (1a) of external rotor (2) which box contains electrical brush (7), processing unit (31) and an electromechanical locking device, which incorporates a ball (19) and a vertical tumbler (16); as well as a second modular box (9) containing electrical brush (7) and the autonomous electrical source; the two modules are connected by the electrical conductor (10).

  • Patent number: 5591950
Abstract: A programmable electronic provides security among multiple users, allows independent use by multiple users of different types, and is modularly adaptable to various applications. Security is provided by the automatic updating of a lock code if an inserted card's key code bears a predetermined relation to the stored lock code. The present invention allows multiple types of users to access a given lock without affecting lock codes associated with other types or invalidating the stored lock codes of other users of the same type. For example, in a hotel room lock, a maid's key will not change the code for a guest's key, and other maid's keys will still open a lock after a first maid has accessed the lock if their lock codes are stored in the lock. The present invention also provides an additional functions circuit which allows add-on functions to be attached to the basic circuit to fit the needs of a particular site.

  • Patent number: 5533369
Abstract: A safety lock and key includes a cylindrical stator and rotor having conventional spring-loaded moving rotor pins and moving stator pins. A first rotor pin/stator pin combination is at substantially 45 degrees to a first face of the key while a second rotor pin/stator pin combination is substantially perpendicular to a second face of the key on the opposite side. The centerlines of the rotor pin/stator pin combinations pass through the center of rotation of the rotor. A housing in the key contains a moving element and emerges from the first face of the key inclined at the same angle as the first rotor pin/stator pin combination. The housing also emerges from the second face of the key through a tapered bore that receives the second rotor pin/stator pin combination. A tapered head of the second rotor pin engages a rear portion of the moving element in the housing, thus engaging the moving element with the first rotor pin/stator pin combination.
