Abstract: A mechanism is disclosed for generating a composite email for an email conversation. The composite email includes content automatically extracted from a plurality of the emails in the email conversation, and may be generated in response to a user accessing just one of the emails in the email conversation. A mechanism is also disclosed for discovering and recovering lost emails in an email conversation. A mechanism is further disclosed for automatically moving emails from one container to another after an email has been read. These and other advantageous email generating, manipulation, and organization mechanisms are disclosed herein.

Abstract: A system and method for caching data in wireless application protocol (WAP) enabled services caches static data and facilitates dynamic creation of user-specific information to provide a customized output. The mobile cache generates the user-specific information in WML in real-time from cached information according to user-specified preferences. A change trigger triggers information delivery after a predetermined amount of cached information changes. The system may also include an image converter to ensure that image objects can be viewed easily on WAP-enabled devices having small display screens and a document converter to dynamically compose information from selected data based on XML-based content tagging.

Abstract: The present invention is a system for automatic recognition of data store architecture and tracking dynamic changes and evolution in data store architecture. The system of the invention is a complementary system, which can be added onto an existing data store system using the existing interfaces or can be integrated with a data store system. The system comprises three main components that are configured to compose an approximation of the data store architecture. The first of these components is adapted to execute an analysis of the architecture of the data store; the second of the components is adapted to collect and compile statistics from said data store; and the third of the components is adapted to compose an approximation of the architecture of said data store. Methods for using the system of the invention are also described.

Abstract: Archival storage and retrieval of audio/video information is described. Audio and/or video information is digitized, compressed and stored in an intermediate archive format (IAF), which preserves the content at a high-enough quality for subsequent retrieval and conversion into various formats required at the time of use or distribution. A single capture operation is performed with ancillary metadata being added to facilitate subsequent searching, indexing and format conversion. Captured data content is catalogued and indexed at or subsequent to the creation of an IAF file that includes the archived information. The IAF includes a family of audio-video digital encoding formats based on public standards. The encoding format used in any particular application is determined at encoding time from information provided by the archive system user. At encoding, the particular encoding scheme is selected to optimize a tradeoff between storage constraints and end use quality requirements.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for remotely rebooting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication devices. In general, the apparatus remotely selects VoIP communication devices connected to a network, reboots the selected devices, and evaluates the status of each device. A processor allows a user to select VoIP communication devices connected to the network and receives inputs pertaining to the reboot operation, including a time input and search criteria. The processor communicates with the designated VoIP communication devices over a packet-switching network to instruct the devices to reboot and monitors each device. In this way, multiple VoIP communication devices may be rebooted from a remote location, and problems or issues that arise during the reboot process may be identified and addressed. An associated method and computer program product are also provided for remotely rebooting VoIP communication devices.
