Patents Assigned to Tandem PV
  • Patent number: 12677522
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include a photovoltaic device including a plurality of photovoltaic cells coupled in series. The photovoltaic cells include a first contact layer, a first charge transport layer (CTL) disposed over the first contact layer, an absorber layer disposed over the first CTL, a second CTL disposed over the absorber layer; and a second contact layer disposed over the second CTL. A plurality of diodes are positioned in diode regions that are located on opposite edges of the plurality of PV cells. The plurality of diodes are coupled in series and are configured to form a diode between adjacent PV cells of the plurality PV cells.

  • Patent number: 12635288
Abstract: A photovoltaic device includes a plurality of photovoltaic cells coupled in series, the photovoltaic cells including a first contact layer disposed over a first substrate, a first charge transport layer (CTL) disposed over the first contact layer, an absorber layer disposed over the first CTL, a second CTL disposed over the absorber layer, and an ultraviolet (UV) blocking layer comprising a first layer formed on a first side of the first substrate and a second layer formed over the first layer, wherein a refractive index (RI) between the first layer and the first substrate is less than or equal to 1.3, and an RI between the second layer and the first layer is from about 0.75 and about 1.5.

  • Patent number: 12628491
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include an electronic device comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, a first layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, the first layer comprising a metal-halide perovskite material, and an adhesive layer disposed between the first layer and the second electrode, wherein the adhesive layer comprises an organic material. Embodiments of the disclosure generally relate to photovoltaic module products, such as photovoltaic cells, photovoltaic devices and photovoltaic modules that include an absorber layer that comprise a perovskite material. Embodiments of the disclosure include an improved perovskite solar cell architecture that includes one or more buffer layers disposed within the multilayer stack of thin films used to form a solar cell that can exhibit high solar cell performance, and provide stronger adhesion between adjacent layers and/or cohesion within a layer within the multilayer stack used to form the solar cell device.
