Abstract: A beverage cooling device which mounts on top of a cabinet so that a warm beverage, such as beer carried in a keg is cooled prior to flowing out of a faucet. The apparatus includes a cylindrical container having an evaporator coil positioned closely adjacent an inner wall and a beverage dispensing coil centrally positioned within the container. A space is provided between the inner wall of the container and the beverage dispensing coil so as to permit ice to build up on the wall of the container. A power-operated propellor is centrally located within the container for circulating water over the layer of ice and around the beverage dispensing coil to enhance the cooling of the beer flowing through the coil. A temperature sensor is carried in the water between the ice layer and the beverage cooling coil for controlling the operation of a compressor for maintaining the proper temperature of water in the container.

Abstract: A unitary refrigeration system for a vertical refrigeration cooler which may be installed and removed as a unit from a front of the cooler without a need to unload the articles in the cooler or move the cabinet. Another important feature of the present invention is to provide a unitary refrigeration system for a vertical cooler in which the compressor and evaporator may be removed as a unit without disconnection of the refrigerant tubing in a convenient and expedient manner from a front of the cabinet. Still another important feature of the present invention is to provide a unitary refrigeration system which may be easily removed from a vertical cooler as a unit for servicing and replaced by a like unit so that the cooler is not rendered inoperable during servicing.

Abstract: A beverage dispensing device for dispensing carbonated drinks that are mixed from a solution of carbonated water and syrup. The device includes a syrup package, a source of carbonated water, and a mixing head connected to the source of carbonated water and to said syrup package for mixing a measured amount of the carbonated water with the syrup for producing carbonated drinks. The syrup package is carried in a receptacle and is coupled to a source of pressurized gas. A valve having a valve actuator positioned thereon is interposed between the source of pressurized gas and the coupling device with the valve actuator obstructing the removal of the package when in a first position and when in a second position venting the syrup package prior to permitting removal thereof.

Abstract: A liquid container having easy penetratable wall portions provided in laterally extending hollow lobes or protuberances which communicate with the interior of the container. The container is impaled upon piercing pins positioned in sockets carried in a beverage dispensing device. The lateral protuberances serve as suspension elements for supporting the container and also provide surfaces through which piercing pins supply pressurized gas to the container and remove liquid syrup from the container for mixing with a carbonated liquid.

Abstract: A refrigerated horizontal drink box for merchandising soft drinks and the like is disclosed as including movable transparent doors covering individual compartments and brand name indicia carried closely beneath the transparent door disposed at such an angle to the door and to drink containers stacked horizontally in the compartment that positive brand name identification may be had without opening the door whereby advantageous advertisement positioning of the product is achieved and unnecessary opening of the door is avoided.

Abstract: A flow control device is provided for delivering a fluid flow in one direction only while providing for venting of a backflow of fluid in an opposite direction wherein a plurality of self-contained check valve units are slideably received in an elongated housing with one of the check valve units additionally functioning to control the venting of the back flow through an opening formed in the housing wall.

Abstract: An excess pressure relieving means is illustrated for use with fluid pressure reducing apparatus wherein fluid passes from a high pressure inlet chamber to a reduced pressure outlet chamber and includes a valve member having a relief port carried by a diaphragm which extends across the outlet chamber, a closure member carried by the diaphragm normally closing the fluid relief port, and an operator carried by the closure member engaging a stop which limits movement of the closure member but which permits further movement of the valve member producing a separation of the valve and closure members permitting excess fluid pressure to be dissipated through the relief port.
