Patent number: 6344277Abstract: A hydrophilic treatment by the use of a surface active agent and the like is not required for a base even the surface of which is water-repellent or thermoplastic when a viscous amorphous type titanium peroxide is used for fixing a base as a binder. In addition, a thin layer of a photocatalyst semiconductor, a dielectrical ceramics or an electrical ceramics can be easily formed by adhering particles of a photocatalyst semiconductor, a dielectrical ceramics or an electrical ceramics to the layer of a viscous amorphous type titanium peroxide, which is a layer as a binder, in a homogeneously floating state gas. Furthermore, a layer of a titanium oxide having a photocatalyst function can be formed when a base is fixed with a viscous amorphous type titanium peroxide.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2000Date of Patent: February 5, 2002Assignees: Tao Inc., Tio Techno Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shiro Ogata, Yoshimitsu Matsui

Patent number: 6107241Abstract: The invention relates to a photocatalytic body having a good photocatalytic function characterized by using an amorphous titanium peroxide sol, and a method for making the same. A photocatalyst such as titanium oxide in the form of powder or a sol and an amorphous titanium peroxide sol are mixed in different mixing rations depending on the purpose in use and the resultant mixture is coated onto a substrate such as an organic polymer resin, dried-solidifed and/or baked to support and fixed the photocatalyst on the substrate to make a photocatalytic body. Alternatively, a first layer consisting of an amorphous titanium peroxide sol on a substrate, and a second layer made of a photocatalyst is formed on the first layer to make a photocatalytic body. According to the invention, the photocatalyst can be supported and fixed on the substrate without lowering the photocatalytic function of the photocatalyst to obtain a photocatalytic body which is usable over a long time.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1997Date of Patent: August 22, 2000Assignees: Tao Inc., Kabushiki Kaisha Tanaka TenshaInventors: Shiro Ogata, Yoshimitsu Matsui

Patent number: 6074748Abstract: A molded article having a photocatalytic function, a desired shape, a large contact area, and being sufficiently irradiated with ultraviolet rays, even at an inner surface thereof. Unit particles such as glass beads, or filaments such as fibers, are bonded to one another into the desired shape. Subsequently, a photocatalytic functional layer is formed on a surface of each particle or fiber. Particles of a spontaneous emission ultraviolet radiating material or light storage-type ultraviolet radiating material may be mixed in the molded article.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1997Date of Patent: June 13, 2000Assignee: Tao Inc.Inventor: Shiro Ogata
