Abstract: An artificial grass fiber is formed, which fiber has an elongated cross-section that remains substantially constant along its longitudinal axis. An artificial lawn comprising these artificial grass fibers is provided, as well as to the use of the aforesaid artificial grass fibers. The fibers collectively provide a special type of artificial grass which imitates the advantageous characteristics of natural grass, in particular in the field of ball roll and sliding characteristics.

Abstract: A sports floor, comprises a substrate disposed on an underlying honeycomb structure placed on a support base. The honeycomb structure comprises a series of substantially identical cells arranged in rows. The cells include lateral cell walls adjoining each other according to an annular configuration, forming cell openings upon extension of the honeycomb structure. A mesh width of the cell openings ranges between 20 and 100 mm, a height of the cell walls ranges between 5 and 250 mm, and a ratio of the mesh width to the height of the cell walls ranges between 1:4 and 1:0.1.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sports floor, or a part thereof, comprising a substrate disposed on a support base. The present invention furthermore relates to a method for constructing such a sports floor. The object of the present invention is to provide a sports floor, or a part thereof, which requires a minimum amount of maintenance, which exhibits a good compatibility with the support base and which is moreover remarkable for drainage.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming monofilaments, wherein a granular plastic material is fed to an extruder, whereupon the extruder screw pressurises the grains and presses them through the extruder head, after which the material thus obtained is subjected to a post-stretching operation. The present invention furthermore relates to monofilaments obtained by using such a method, as well as to an artificial lawn built up of the aforesaid monofilaments.

Abstract: Method and device for inserting synthetic fibres into a surface, wherein a fibre is unwound from at least one roll. The fibre is transported through a tube to a position under an insertion element by an air flow and is subsequently cut off to a desired length. The fibre is then pressed into the surface by an inserting element. The fibre is cut off by a rotatable element which is rotatable about an axis, which rotatable element is provided with a passage which is co-axial with the tube in a first position of the rotatable element and which includes an angle with the tube in a second position of the rotatable element, in which position the fibre is cut off.

Abstract: The invention relates to a field containing artificial grass consisting of a substructure and a top layer provided thereon, wherein the top layer is a nutrient medium (50) which contains regularly spaced fibers (1) which, when seen in the longitudinal direction of the fiber, extend further into the ground than above the ground, with natural grass (2) seeded between the fibers in a nutrient medium (5) on the substructure (3). The invention also relates to artificial fibers to be used with a field containing artificial grass wherein the fibers have a length of 20 60 cm. The invention further relates to a device for inserting artificial fibers into the ground, said device consisting of one or more planting pins (25), which are disposed perpendicularly to a frame (40), one or more tubes (20) being placed in a sliding frame (41) for supplying the fibers (30) to a location under the planting pin (25).

Abstract: The invention relates to a device (51) for inserting elongated artificial grass fibres (30) into the ground. The device (51) is provided with a frame (40), which is movable across the ground and which has at least one planting pin (25) being movable up and down in the frame (40), as well as with means for placing an artificial grass fibre (30) to be inserted into the ground under said planting pin (25), in such a manner that the fibre in question can at least partially be pressed into the ground by the planting pin (25) subsequently moving downwards. Preferably the device is provided with a plurality of planting pins (25), which are arranged in a row extending transversely to the intended direction of movement of the device, and which can jointly be moved up and down with respect to the frame by setting means.
