Patent number: 4416475Abstract: Disclosed is a flexible coupling whose operative interposition between communicating members affords the relative relationship of 360.degree. rotation, axial alignment, misalignment, offset relationship, articulation at different angles axially. The flexible coupling is self-cleaning and acts as a vibration dampener. The flexible coupling has upstream and downstream collars which mount a U-shaped annular flexible member whose one end portion is fixed to the upstream collar between an annular flange and keeper plate and whose other end portion is freely retained on the downstream collar between annular flanges.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1982Date of Patent: November 22, 1983Assignee: Tarrant Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Ralph C. Patent number: 4108010Abstract: Discloses a conveyor-type, hydraulic-powered, material-spreading apparatus comprising a material-storage hopper, a conveyor for conveying material from the hopper for spreading same and a hydraulic, power-transfer system comprising two double-acting, hydraulic cylinders in communication with and operatively connected to valves which control and direct hydraulic fluid under pressure to the hydraulic cylinders to drive the conveyor. Each hydraulic cylinder has two drive strokes per cycle, with each drive stroke approximating 160.degree., each hydraulic cylinder is 90.degree. out of phase with the other, with positive drive resulting throughout the cycle. Also discloses the hydraulic, power-transfer system described above for use in driving a conveyor for use with a material-spreading apparatus having a source of material to be spread, with such conveyor being disposed beneath the material for conveying same for spreading.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1977Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: Tarrant Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Bruce W. Taylor, Gregory J. Murray

Patent number: 4043446Abstract: Discloses a conveyor, adapted to be driven by drive means, for continuous and positive conveying of material. The conveyor comprises driven chains, adapted to be driven by the drive means, spaced-apart, rigid bar flights carried cross-wise by and relative to the driven chains, and angularly arranged and disposed chains carried between the rigid bar flights. The rigid bar flights and angularly arranged chains between such rigid bar flights cooperate to effect continuous and positive conveying of the material.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1976Date of Patent: August 23, 1977Assignee: Tarrant Manufacturing CompanyInventor: William P.
