Abstract: A writing pen, including a first pen portion containing an ink cartridge, a ferro rod extending from the first pen portion, and a removable second pen portion removably positionable over the first pen portion. The second pen portion includes a whistle integrally formed therewith. A third pen portion is removably positionable over the first pen portion and overlys the ferro rod to substantially conceal the ferro rod. A removable striker having a first end configured for contacting the ferro rod is installable onto the third pen portion so that either the first end of the striker or the second end of the striker extends outwardly from the third pen portion.
Abstract: An assisted-opening knife has a spring tied to a front of a blade carrier and a movable slider assembly within a slot formed through the blade carrier, so that a blade can be rapidly extended by the elastic force without going through stepwise movement. An expanded portion of the slot engaging the slider assembly allows the blade to be received in a holder and ejected only when the slider assembly fully disengages from the expanded portion, thereby generating no sudden ejection of the blade. Additionally, a safety latch securely locks the blade when the blade is fully retracted. When the blade is fully extended, a stopper engages the slider assembly to prevent the blade from being retracted during cutting and stabbing. Accordingly, the assisted-opening knife addresses a solution to rapidly extend the blade for cutting and stabbing without compromising the safety considerations.
Abstract: A writing pen, including a writing pen portion; a ferro rod positionable to extend from the writing pen portion; and a striker portion positionable to extend from the writing pen portion to substantially conceal the ferro rod, The striker portion has one or more striker members which may be struck against the ferro rod for generating sparks.
Abstract: A blade sharpening assembly generally including a pair of clamping members disposable in coextensive relationship, each providing end portions for receiving a blade therebetween with a cutting edge thereof disposed beyond the ends thereof; means interengaging the clamping members functional as a fulcrum in permitting the end portions to displace in clamping a blade therebetween; means interconnecting the clamping members for angularly displacing the clamping members about the fulcrum; a guide member pivotally connected to a second end portion of each of the clamping members, pivotal between a first position disposed coextensively with a connected clamping member, and a second position at an angle relative to the connected clamping member, alignable with the guide member of the other of the clamping members, when the clamping members are disposed in coextensive; means interconnectable between the guide members when the guide members are disposed in alignment for releasably retaining the guide members in alignm
Abstract: A blade sharpening assembly generally consisting of a base member; a clamping member disposed on the base member, cooperable therewith for releasably securing a blade thereon with a cutting edge thereof protruding therefrom; a guide post mountable on the base member; a carrier member mounted on the guide post, displaceable along a length thereof, including means for releasably securing the carrier member at selected positions along the length of the guide post; and a tool for sharpening a blade secured between the base and clamping members, including a handle section, an elongated section engageable with a support surface of the carrier member and a honing section engageable with a cutting edge of a blade secured between the base and clamping members when the elongated section engages the support surface of the carrier member.
Abstract: A knife and sheath for housing the knife, the sheath including a light, an actuator for activating the light, and finger openings, with the knife being withdrawn from the sheath to permit the fingers of the user to be inserted through the finger receiving openings and enable a thumb of the user to be positioned on the actuator for selective activation and de-activation of the light emitting device.
