  • Patent number: 10005573
Abstract: A lunch box assembly having a main housing having a lid rotatably, hingedly attached to a base to provide access to an opened interior of one or more compartments is disclosed. The lid can have ferrously magnetic material and recesses to accept magnets. The magnets can be shaped to fit the recesses. The base can have compartments aligned with corresponding compartments in the lid. The base and the lid can form one or more closed food storage compartments that separate the contents from the neighboring compartments. A latch on the base and lid can produce a clamping force on a small lidded container or containers placed in one or more of the compartments. The clamping force can clamp the lidded container closed and prevent leakage of fluids in the container.

  • Patent number: 8894042
Abstract: A wine aerator for pouring wine from a wine container such as a wine bottle into a receiver such as a wine glass. The wine aerator has a large mouthed vessel into which the wine is poured from any wine container and the wine passes through the vessel to an outlet having a plurality of radial holes to break up the flow of wine into small discrete flows to carry out the aeration process. The wine aerator has a base that is affixed to the vessel and has a plurality of outwardly extending projections that are dimensioned so as to contact the rim of a wine glass to position the wine aerator atop of the wine glass while the wine aerator is being used. The wine aerator is inexpensively constructed and has no moving parts where leakage could occur.

  • Publication number: 20130133404
Abstract: A system for detecting a mold condition has a base unit configured to receive and display the temperature and the humidity from a remote sensing unit. The base unit is configured to determine if a mold condition is present at a location of the remote sensing unit based on a time interval the remote sensing unit detects the humidity and the temperature above predetermined thresholds, and display an indicator if the mold condition is present. A method of detecting a mold condition includes wirelessly transmitting a detected humidity and temperature from a sensing unit to a base unit, monitoring the temperature and the humidity across a time interval, and providing an indicator if the mold condition is present when the temperature and the humidity are above predetermined thresholds for the time interval.

  • Publication number: 20120222903
Abstract: A scale includes a weighing panel supported by a platform, a measurement module in communication with the weighing panel, a user interface supported by the platform and having at least one display and a user input, and a controller. The controller is in communication with the user interface and the measurement module. The controller is configured to: (i) receive a signal from the measurement module to determine a weight of a user, (ii) command the display to show the weight, (iii) receive an activity selection from the user input, and (iv) command the display to show the activity and a corresponding activity calorie estimate based on the weight of the user.

  • Publication number: 20090223945
Abstract: A portable, temperature controlled food storage compartment. The compartment includes a base having an internal cavity including a temperature controlling element for controlling the temperature of food stored in the compartment, and a detachable cover including a number of side panels, a front panel and a top panel. Each of the number of side panels is pivotally connected to the top panel. The front panel is pivotally connected to the number of side panels. The cover is configurable in a food storage position in which a lower edge portion of each of the number of side panels is coupled to the base to form an interior volume at least partially defined by the base and the cover and for storing food. The cover is configurable in a collapsed position in which at least one surface portion of at least one of the number of side panels and the top panel contacts the base.

  • Publication number: 20080216664
Abstract: A method of steeping tea including receiving a tea type; receiving tea data records, each including tea type, steeping time and steeping temperature; matching the tea type to one of the number of tea data records to obtain a corresponding steeping time and a corresponding steeping temperature; receiving successive sensed temperature readings of the steeping liquid; comparing the successive sensed temperature readings with the corresponding steeping temperature; once one of the successive sensed temperature readings reaches the corresponding steeping temperature, providing a first alert that the steeping temperature has been reached; after the first alerting step, receiving a dry tea input indicating that a dry tea has been added to the brewing liquid; activating a countdown of the corresponding steeping time after receiving the dry tea input; and once the corresponding steeping time elapses according to the countdown, providing a second alert indicating that the steeping time has elapsed.
