Abstract: A reel spring for a magnetic tape cassette is made of a resilient sheet metal into a diamond-like configuration in which a pair of portions which are asymmetrical with reference to two central axial line perpendicularly crossing and are symmetrical with reference to the crossing point are removed.
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having a Mn-Al recording layer containing at least one of Fe, Co, and Ni and having an easy magnetization axis in the perpendicular direction to the layer. The magnetic recording layer can be formed at a high speed by employing magnetron sputtering.
Abstract: A process for producing magnetic particles for a magnetic recording medium from an acicular goethite as a starting material comprises a step of growing a Si-component-containing goethite as an outer layer.
Abstract: A method of producing a powder magnetic material for use as a magnetic recording medium is disclosed. More particularly, the disclosed powder magnetic material is adapted to provide a magnetic recording medium of low electrical resistance. In particular, an alloy of cobalt and at least one element selected from the group consisting of vanadium, molybdenum, copper, maganese, nickel, zinc and iron are deposited onto the surface of particles of magnetic iron oxides such as Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 or .gamma.Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3. Powdered magnetic material of high coercivity, high magnetic flux density and low electrical resistance is obtained.
