Oxidation of the upper surface of the magnetic layer with a plasma is also effective.

    Abstract: A PTC heating device is adapted to be used as a heat source for an electric vaporizer which is adapted to heat liquid medicine, e.g., liquid insecticide, aromatic liquid, or the like, to vaporize it. The PTC heating device includes a casing in which an electrode structure including at least one PTC thermistor having electrodes arranged on both surfaces thereof and two electrode members interposing the PTC thermistor therebetween is received. The PTC heating device further includes a heat-radiating member mounted through a heat-conducting member with respect to the casing and for heating an absorber having sucked up liquid medicine from a reservoir having the liquid medicine contained therein to vaporize the liquid medicine. One of the electrodes of the PTC thermistor is in close contact with a flat surface of the heat-conducting member through one of two electrode members, so that heat generated at the PTC thermistor is efficiently transmitted to the heat-radiating member through the heat-conducting member.

    Abstract: A tape cassette has a case with upper and lower halves and an open space at the front thereof. A magnetic tape housed in the case is wound around a pair of reels. A brake is slidably mounted on the inner surface of the lower half of the case to prevent the reels from being rotated. Part of a spring is attached to the brake. The spring has free ends and urges the brake in a direction. A device for positioning the spring includes a partition wall on the inner surface of the lower half of the case which partitions the open case from the inside of the case. An independent abutment member on the partition wall abuts the free ends of the spring.

    Abstract: There is proposed a tilt sensor in which a permanent magnet having a surface coated with a magnetic field is housed in a hollow portion of a nonmagnetic case, and a magnetic sensing element is disposed outside a bottom portion of the case. When the case is tilted at an angle exceeding a predetermined angle, the permanent magnet is greatly moved and the magnetic sensing element detects the movement of the magnet. Furthermore, adverse influences due to magnetic attraction between the permanent magnet and the magnetic sensing element or a surface tension of the magnetic fluid are compensated.

    Abstract: A disc cartridge and a casing therefore capable of carrying out insertion and removal of a disc with respect to the casing without separating a shutter from the disc cartridge and adversely affecting the disc, with simple operation. The casing also includes a pair of guides arranged on both side of a rear portion of an interior of the casing body so as to be opposite to each other. The guides permit insertion and removal of the disc with respect to the casing body to be safely accomplished along the guides through the opened rear end of the casing. The disc cartridge uses such a casing.

The capacitor includes a semiconductive ceramic body formed of the composition, a first conductive layer formed on each of both surfaces of the body and a second conductive layer formed on the first conductive layer. A process for manufacturing the capacitor is also provided.

    Abstract: A nebulizer which pumps up water and mists the pumped up water comprises an elongated main body with a center hole for water passage, and piezoelectric vibration elements together with electrodes for energizing the same mounted on the main body. The vibration elements are water-proofed, and the nebulizer itself is supported by using a flange on a water-proof member and the flange is on a plane on which a center electrode is positioned. Upon vibration of the elements, water is pumped up through the inlet of the main body, and is dissipated into the air through the outlet of the main body. Preferably, the inlet and the outlet are removable from the main body, and the inlet is coated with a thin hard film. Preferably, the outlet is covered with a mesh, or at least an opening of the outlet is covered for preventing the release of water that has not been convereted to mist.

    Abstract: In a magnetic tape cassette comprising an upper half housing section with a see-through window, a lower half housing section, a pair of hubs on which a length of magnetic tape is wound and which are rotatably fitted in between the two half housing sections, and a stopper located between one edge of the tape wound on the hubs and the upper half housing section and having pawls engageable with given points of the hubs, the stopper has a flap portion slidable along the inner side of the see-through window and which is exposed when the pawls are engaged with the hubs. The stopper is slidable perpendicularly to the axes of rotation of the hubs. It is colored as classified by the grade, use, or type of the magnetic tape involved. Its exposed area visible through the see-through window is at a maximum when the stopper is engaged with the hubs.
