    Abstract: A system and method of determining a fault in two or more series switches of an electrical system. The electrical system includes, at least one AC power source, at least one sensor, at least two series switches, and a fault analysis module including a processor and a memory. The method includes applying, by the at least one AC power source, at least one time varying signal to the electrical system. The method further includes receiving, by the fault analysis module, at least one measurement, from the at least one sensor, of the at least one time varying signal, at least one node of the electrical system. The method further includes receiving, by the fault analysis module, at least one predetermined signal parameter and determining, by the fault analysis module, the presence of a fault, based on the at least one measurement and the at least one predetermined signal parameter.
