Abstract: A communications system may include a plurality of communications devices connected together in a network and having a plurality of user accounts associated therewith. At least one of the communications devices may process requests using an HTTP client application associated therewith. The system may also include an application server for accessing the user accounts via the HTTP client application, and an HTTP server for interfacing the HTTP client application with the application server. The HTTP server and the HTTP client application may format requests to be communicated therebetween in an HTTP format, and each may provide additional state information with the HTTP formatted requests recognizable by the other for authentication purposes. Furthermore, the HTTP client application may request a first universal resource locator (URL) from the HTTP server for accepting work requests from the application server, and a second URL different from the first for responding to work requests.

Abstract: An email communications system for operating over a communications network may include an email server having a server inbox for receiving and storing email via the communications network and having a server email storage folder. The system may further include at least one wireless email communications device having a device inbox, and an email proxy server for communicating with the email server and the at least one wireless email communications device via the communications network. The email proxy server may be for forwarding email from the server inbox to the device inbox, detecting a deletion of a given email from the server inbox, and if the deletion of the given email from the server inbox is not preceded by copying of the given email to the server email storage folder, then causing the wireless email communications device to also delete the given email from the device inbox based thereon.

Abstract: An email communications system for operating over a communications network may include an email server for sending and receiving electronic mail (email) messages via the communications network, where at least some of the received email messages include electronic file attachments. The system may further include a communications device comprising a display, a user input device, and a processor for communicating with the email server. The processor may also cooperate with the display and user input device for displaying an email folder hierarchy for user navigation of the received email messages, and for displaying an electronic file attachment folder hierarchy corresponding to the email folder hierarchy for navigating the electronic file attachments.

Abstract: A computer server system may include a plurality of database modules for storing user data for a plurality of users, and at least one processing module comprising a plurality of processing threads for processing jobs for users based upon respective user data. The computer server system may further include a database pool module connected between the plurality of database modules and the at least one processing module. The database pool module may be for selectively connecting the processing threads to corresponding database modules including respective user data for jobs to be processed, and determining when a database module becomes unresponsive and terminating processing thread connections to the unresponsive database module based thereon. The email server may include an account provisioning module for determining the at least one markup language supported by a given wireless communications device, providing at least one respective markup language provisioning template to the given wireless communications device based upon the supported at least one markup language, and generating a provisioned email account for the given wireless communications device based upon at least one provisioning parameter returned via the at least one markup language provisioning template.
