Patent number: 5704476Abstract: A hazardous material containment and storage unit is disclosed. The unit comprises a basin in which a plurality of molded plastic pods are positioned to form a support surface for placing containers of hazardous material such as conventional fifty-five gallon drums. Each pod may be molded form a collection basin so that only individual pods have to be removed and cleaned when a spill occurs. The containment tray formed by the basin and pods may be enclosed by a plurality of door structures pivotally attached to a door support arch. The vertical sides of the door support arch are positioned within recesses and attached to ledges on the outside surface of the basin. Each door structure has a top, side and front panel which covers a separate quadrant of the containment tray when the doors are closed. A pod for supporting a conventional drum in a generally horizontal orientation over the basin is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1994Date of Patent: January 6, 1998Assignee: Tec-Products, Inc.Inventor: Tim Abbott

Patent number: 5299884Abstract: A watertight chimney assembly prevents infiltration of water in the region between a manhole cover support frame and a concrete manhole assembly. The watertight chimney, in one embodiment, is comprised of a pair of tubular telescoping sleeves each provided with a flange for mounting respectively to and between the top lip of a manhole assembly and the bottom surface of a flange on the cover support frame supported a desired distance above the top of the manhole assembly to maintain the cover frame at proper grade. An O-ring seated within an annular groove provided in one of the tubular sleeves provides a sliding watertight seal therebetween. The sleeve flanges are arranged and compressed between the cover support frame and manhole assembly and contribute to the watertight seal. One of the sleeves is reversible to increase the telescoping range between a minimum and a maximum extension. In an alternative embodiment, the internal surface of the manhole opening constitutes one of the telescoping members.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1991Date of Patent: April 5, 1994Assignee: Poly-Tec Products, Inc.Inventors: James A. Patent number: 5248154Abstract: A gasket for providing a watertight seal between an opening and a cast member and a conduit extending into said cast member, the gasket being an annular member having an outer circumferential portion of inverted T-shaped cross-section for embedment into the opening of the cast member and a flexible web-like portion extending inwardly from said anchoring portion and terminating in an annular enlarged beaded portion. The length of the web is greater than the distance between the outer diameter of the beaded portion and the inner diameter of the anchoring portion to form a curved configuration. The beaded portion has an inner diameter adapted to cause the beaded portion to undergo at least slight expansion when a conduit is pushed through the central opening defined by the beaded portion whereby the over-center position of the beaded portion may be reversed simply by movement of the pipe.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1991Date of Patent: September 28, 1993Assignee: Poly-Tec Products, Inc.Inventors: James A. Patent number: 5217237Abstract: A bidirectional gasket providing a water-tight seal between an opening in a manhole assembly and a pipe extending into said opening, comprises a T-shaped anchoring portion for embedment in a manhole opening A substantially A-shaped pipe engagement portion is joined to the anchoring portion by a slender connecting web facilitating bending of the gasket. The A-shaped portion has "legs" and recesses which form water pockets preventing water from entering. The durometer of the gasket material enhances the water-tight seal of the legs with increasing water pressure. The pipe engaging portion accommodates a greater outside pipe diameter compared with conventional connectors due to reduced volume, by providing voids within the connector together and a lower durometer of gasket material. The gasket has enhanced ability to accommodate diameter deflection or ovation in rigid and flexible pipe materials.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1992Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Assignee: Poly-Tec Products, Inc.Inventors: James A. Westhoff, James A. Kelly

Patent number: 5081802Abstract: Cast members are provided with a liner assembly to protect the cast material from corrosion. The liner assembly is formed of a plurality of curved liner sections having integral joining flanges. A resilient compressible gasket is arranged between opposing flanges and is provided with at least one flange receiving slot for receiving the flange of one of said liner sections to facilitate assembly thereof. Fastening means join the opposing flanges to compress the gasket and thereby provide a liquid-tight joint. Integral flanges are provided at the upper and lower ends of the liner sections to receive a sealant which is squeezed out of the seams formed by the mating sections when joined to protect the cast assembly from corrosion. The liner sections are formed of a material which is inert to the corrosive influences.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1990Date of Patent: January 21, 1992Assignee: Poly-Tec Products, Inc.Inventors: James A. Patent number: 4995017Abstract: Safety power outlet connected to a plurality of power lines, including a hot line, and arranged to receive the prongs of a matching multipronged power plug has a receive terminal connected to each power line. The receive terminal is arranged to receive a corresponding prong of the power plug which upon insertion into the terminal operates a switch associated with each terminal. All switches are connected in series, and upon complete insertion of all the prongs, the series connected switches complete a power connection from the hot line to its respective prong, which in turn provides power to the external circuit connected to the power plug.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1989Date of Patent: February 19, 1991Assignee: TEC Products, Inc.Inventors: Christopher G.
