Abstract: In a sliding chain-type ingot mold (12, 13), each mold is constituted by molding elements (14, 15; 114, 115; 214, 215) representing two half-molds which can be made to face each other so as to form a closed mold shaping a cavity to hold the molten metal. According to the invention, some engaging elements (34, 134, 234) are provided, capable of interacting with cam-shaped surfaces (33, 133, 233) provided on one side on at least one (14, 114, 214) of said molding elements, and on the other side on a fixed frame (35) designed to detach and approach said molding elements.
Abstract: A roll train includes a plurality stands positioned in series, wherein the stands are of at least two different types, one stand type being alternated with the other one. Each one of the stands has four rolls, opposed to each other in a two by two disposition, and at least one stand has two driven rolls opposed to each other wherein two stands in sequence have a rotational displacement angel of 45.degree. about the axis of the rolls of the stands.
Abstract: A bar deburring plant for cut to size round bars, comprising: a first roller feed path of cut bars towards an alignment element of one first end of said bars, a first transfer element of said bars, with said first aligned end, to a conveyor of said bars, which are spaced one after the other, said conveyor carries said first ends of said aligned bars under a brushing head, a second roller feed path of said cut bars going towards a second alignment element of the second end of said bars, a second transfer element of said bars, with said second aligned end, to a second conveyor of said bars, which are spaced one after the other, said conveyor carries said second ends of said aligned bars under a second brushing head.
Abstract: A walking beam furnace has in its interior fixed beams and walking beams for holding and transporting material to be annealed. These beams are provided with different support members for the material to be annealed, of which support members one serves for transporting flat material and the other for transporting round material. The different support members are arranged on the fixed and walking beams one after another in an alternating sequence.
Abstract: A rolling cage to produce hot rolled bars, comprising at least one pair of rolling cylinders (12, 13) mounted on their respective stands (14, 15) in which a clearance (17) (processing gap) between said cylinders (12, 13) is adjusted by a system of screws (18) and lead screws (21), and which provides for a hydraulic pre-loading system of the same cylinders (12, 13) after adjusting the said clearance (17). According to the invention, the pre-loading system of said hydraulic cylinders (12, 13) comprises a multiple number of rods (27) crossing said stands (14, 15) and capable of a relative sliding motion. Each of said rods (27) is at one extremity (28) attached to a stand (14) while the opposite extremity is equipped with a piston (29) moving inside a hydraulic cylinder (30) firmly attached to the stand (15) opposite the former, so that said rods (27) also serve the function of opposing the rolling torque.
Abstract: A stacker for the stacking of metallic section bars in alternating upright and reverse layers in an orderly manner, in particular of section bars originating from rolling mills by a conveying line which includes a plurality of trolleys equipped with lances capable of moving forward and backward from the reception area of a stack of section bars to a deposition area of the same layer of section bars in an upright position, and a plurality of magnetic heads capable of being actuated to rotate by a first set of actuating members from a picking-up position of another layer of section bars to a depositing position of the same layer of section bars reversed on top of the first layer of upright section bars.
Abstract: An automatic stacker with rotary heads for stacking in an ordered manner in alternate upright and inverted layers rolled metal sections originating from a rolling mill via a transport line is characterised in that each head also undergoes vertical translational movement in the directions of the arrow substantially parallel to itself, such movement being provided by a second drive mechanism independent of a first providing rotation of the head itself. In this manner, the head deposits softly and with precision each layer of sections on the layer placed below, thus avoiding jamming and improper stacking.
Abstract: A rotary electromagnetic head for automatic stackers of iron sections originating from a rolling mill. And an expulsion device is provided with a bar rotating together with the head but also provided with simultaneous movement relative to the head. This relative movement is caused by a cam against the action of a counteracting spring.
Abstract: An extrusion press has a sealing and suction device (30; 230; 330) mounted around a plunger (18; 118) with the possibility of sliding axially along the same; the device creates an airtight seal against a back face (25) of a container (20) for a billet (B) when the plunger is working within an inner chamber (24) of the container. A vacuum is created inside the chamber as soon as the plunger enters the chamber before extrusion of the billet begins.
Abstract: A billet fed extrusion press comprises a rotating arm (46) on a movable cross member (28). The arm carries a plunger (48) and a billet loader (50) spaced from each other, and can be rotated between a condition in which it brings the plunger into a working position in alignment on extrusion axis (a) of the press and the loader (50) into a billet receiving position on one side of the press, and a condition in which it brings the loader into a billet loading position along the axis (a) of the press and the pusher into a rest position on the said one side of the press.
