Publication number: 20080220952Abstract: An exercise device used to provide resistance to the contraction of a muscle during weight lifting. The exercise device consists of a handle with two weighted members connected on opposing ends of the handle. The weighted members are connected through a press fit manufacturing technique. Each opposing end of the handle has at least one channel about the periphery of the handle ends that is used to collect metal shavings generated during the press fit manufacturing process. By collecting the metal shavings, a connection that not only has a tight tolerance, but also has few imperfections at the interface between the flushed surfaces is created.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2008Publication date: September 11, 2008Applicant: TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT, INC.Inventor: Steve Yang

Publication number: 20080220949Abstract: A boxing equipment frame assembly, wherein the frame assembly is capable of supporting a plurality of punching bags including a speed bag and a heavy bag. The frame assembly includes a speed bag support assembly that includes a sliding bracket. The bracket serves as the means of connecting the speed bag support assembly to the main equipment frame. By using a sliding bracket that moves independently of the main support frame, the height of the speed bag can be adjusted without displacing any of the additional components attached to the frame. A piston is provided to apply a continuous upward force to the sliding bracket. In applying a continuous upward force the user has to put in less effort and a greater degree of control is achieved in adjusting the height of the speed bag.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2008Publication date: September 11, 2008Applicant: TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT, INC.Inventor: STEVE YANG

Patent number: 7048678Abstract: An inexpensive to manufacture dumbbell hardware design with secure, tight tolerance, non-rotating weights having a central handle with ends having a geometric shape and a central bore at least part way through each end, a means for securing one or more weights to the handle located at least partially within the central bore, and one or more weights, each including an interior element and a cast resistance, wherein the interior element provides tight tolerance with the handle having a circumference and a generally central void of a shape complementary to the geometric shape of the central handle, wherein the wherein the weights are secured by a locking bolt have corresponding threads with the central bore.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2002Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: Technical Knockout, Inc.Inventors: Robert E. Patent number: 6790167Abstract: A striking bag apparatus which is easy to manufacture, assemble, transport or move, and adjust in height, and which is effectively self-supported such that no sparring partner is needed. The striking bag apparatus is composed of a hollow base, hollow cylindrical column, and striking pad. The striking pad is preferably a foam sleeve covered by a smooth striking surface installed around the upper portion of the cylindrical column which is held in a substantially vertical position by the base. Both the column and base may be filled with water, sand, metal shot, or other suitable weighting substance to provide for increased stability and support, via easily accessible fill apertures in the column and base. The height of the striking surface may be easily adjusted, without disassembly, by rotating the column within the base, in a simple “corkscrew” fashion. The base is provided with wheels to aid in moving the apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2002Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: Technical Knockout, Inc.Inventors: Mitch Carlin, Richard Tarozzi

Patent number: 6711747Abstract: Combination one-piece hand/forearm paddings and shin/foot paddings are disclosed, preferably, for use during martial arts events. The one-piece construction provides for a greater area of protection, and prevents the forearm and shin portions of the paddings from sliding up or down the wearer's arms and legs, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2002Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Technical Knockout, Inc.Inventor: Mitch Carlin

Patent number: 6704936Abstract: A Boxing glove having an inner mitt into which a boxer's hand is placed. The inner mitt utilizes a two layer palm lining which forms the front of the mitt and opposes a waterproof Taffeta pad lining which forms the back of the mitt. The inner mitt is attached to a padded outside covering and cuff so that the palm lining is exposed to the outside. The inner mitt is arranged so that in use as the boxer's hand perspires the first layer of the palm lining wicks away the sweat and the second layer allows it to dry and escape to the outside. Additionally, the waterproof Taffeta lining does not allow sweat to be absorbed by the boxing glove so that it maintains it's intended weight. The inner mitt incorporates grip bars and reinforced sections.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2002Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: Technical Knockout, Inc.Inventor: Mitch Carlin
