Abstract: For a satellite-based transmission of an HTML application accessible from an initial site, there is provided at the level of an intermediate platform hardware and software means making it possible on the basis of a semantic and syntactic analysis of the application to group together into transmission modules pages of like depth of the application and included components, if any, in these pages. The modules containing the low depth pages are transmitted with a greater frequency than the pages of greater depth. In this way a user more quickly receives all the information necessary for the displaying of a page.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for loading media in a digital cinema system is described. Specifically, the digital cinema system has a received storage medium and a local storage medium. A user is prompted to present the received storage medium. Responsive to the user specifying the received storage medium, a list of image programs is displayed. Responsive to the user specifying the image program, a list of audio programs is displayed. Responsive to the user specifying the audio program, how much storage space is required to store the selected image program and audio program on the local storage medium is determined. If the storage space required on the local storage medium is insufficient to load the selected image and audio programs, a warning indicative of insufficient storage space is displayed. Each selected program is then authenticated.

Abstract: An apparatus for playback of an analog optical sound track on a film includes a transport for transporting the film past a scanner that generates a digital image signal representative of the analog optical sound track. The digital signal represents the optical signal as gray scale values with a range of greater than one bit. A processor processes the digital image signal for displaying and assessing a result while adjusting a threshold that determines the representation of gray scale values with one bit of resolution.

Abstract: Automatic detection of errors among different formatted sound tracks of the same language on a motion picture film stock can be achieved by first acquiring successive audio segments from each of the sound tracks. During a time window of prescribed duration, the audio of each different formatted track undergoes analysis to yield a numeric value. The successive analysis of the audio continues until no further audio exists for analysis. The resultant collection of numeric values undergoes formatting into a numeric file for comparison against a reference file representing audio obtained from a particular source, such as originally recorded material, a sound print, or a duplicated copy of a sound film. If the difference between a formatted numerical file and the reference file exceeds a threshold value, then an error exists in that formatted sound track, and an operator can take appropriate action.

Abstract: The invention provides a color processing system comprising an image capture device for capturing a scene and providing first color image data representative of the scene. A color space transformer is coupled to the image capture device for transforming the first color image data to second color image data. A first display device is coupled to the color transformer. The first display device displays the scene as represented by the second color image data. The color transformer includes a processor programmed to perform a matrix operation upon the first color image data by selecting matrix elements from a look up table (LUT) comprising pre-computed values.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for uniquely identifying a copy of a motion picture disposed on a media. The method includes the steps of selecting two or more motion picture scenes. Each of the motion picture scenes is an identifiable portion of the motion picture distinct from every other portion of the motion picture. Once the scenes have been identified, two or more sequences can be defined within each of the motion picture scenes such that each sequence includes two or more frames. For example, the motion picture can have three scenes, each divided into twenty eight sequences, with each of the sequences containing 12 frames. Once the scenes and sequences have been selected, at least one of the sequences from each scene is marked to define a uniquely identifiable marking pattern on the media.

Abstract: A method and system for color correcting and completing answerprints in preparation for making final copies of motion pictures for distribution. A light system is provided in which colors of the light projected through a film toward a viewing screen can be individually and incrementally adjusted as desired for use by a color “Timer” who is an individual that selects color corrections on a scene-by-scene basis until a suitable look is achieved. The Timer does this in real time while watching the film scene projected on the screen. The color adjustments are stored and subsequently used to control a motion picture film printer in printing a next version of scenes of the film.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a storage holder (11) for a compact disc, and to a storage case (12) containing such a storage holder (11) wherein the storage holder (11) does not flex the compact disc during release and has a relatively simple design thereby avoiding the necessity of using complex molds. The storage holder comprises (a) a base portion; (b) at least two inwardly extending radial arms connected so the base portion by a center disc supporting ring, each of said inwardly extending radial arms having a retaining rib for engaging the upper surface of the compact disc; (c) a center button formed by the inner ends of the arms and which center button is receivable in the central hole of the compact disc; and wherein release of the compact disc by depression of the center button and actuation of the retaining ribs and arms does not result in any flexing or lifting of the compact disc.
