    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a storage holder (11) for a compact disc, and to a storage case (12) containing such a storage holder (11) wherein the storage holder (11) does not flex the compact disc during release and has a relatively simple design thereby avoiding the necessity of using complex molds. The storage holder comprises (a) a base portion; (b) at least two inwardly extending radial arms connected so the base portion by a center disc supporting ring, each of said inwardly extending radial arms having a retaining rib for engaging the upper surface of the compact disc; (c) a center button formed by the inner ends of the arms and which center button is receivable in the central hole of the compact disc; and wherein release of the compact disc by depression of the center button and actuation of the retaining ribs and arms does not result in any flexing or lifting of the compact disc.

    Abstract: Anti-copying protection for video material is provided wherein at least one high-amplitude pulse is inserted into various lines of the video signal, in and immediately preceding the vertical interval associated with each field, during the process of preparing a master recording for use in the high-speed duplication of legitimate recordings of the video material. A preferred embodiment of the present system and method is directed to videotape-to-videotape anti-copying protection. A high-amplitude pulse is inserted in the back porch region of horizontal sync pulses, and immediately following certain equalizing and vertical sync pulses, at an intermediate stage in the mastering process, whereby the pulse is inserted into a separated luminance component of the video signal, which is later recombined with the chromenance signal.

    Abstract: A method and related system are disclosed which allow for a series of individualized audio segments to be recorded for subsequent, simultaneous insertion into the audio track(s) of a plurality of videotapes loaded into multiple videotape recorders (VTR's), respectively. In one embodiment, each audio segment recorded is uniquely associated with, and inserted into, an audio track of a respective prerecorded videotape such that each of the plurality of videotapes is personalized with its own unique message. A voice recording and data entry station is provided wherein each audio segment to be inserted is independently recorded, digitized, and stored on a data tape with related identifying information associated therewith. Audio segments from the digital data tape are then downloaded in groups into a production control center computer, incorporating software and interface circuitry to control the operation of the VTR's, in order to effect the insertion of each audio message segment into respective videotapes.

    Abstract: A videocassette overlay tray comprised of a sturdy plastic composition which is inexpensive and improves sorting and storage functions of videocassettes in the duplication and manufacturing environment. The videocassette tray permits the storage of a large number of videocassettes before or after the duplication process, and the walls and recesses of the overlay tray are constructed so that the trays may be stacked one upon another in interfitting relationship with the tray fully retaining and protecting the videocassettes placed in fixed positions within the tray below. The trays are further constructed whereby each recess helps form a support apex, thus allowing a tray when full to be stacked one on top of another while resting on a storage platform or cart, and also is capable of being nested when empty in one of two possible nesting configurations.
