  • Patent number: 3993257
Abstract: An apparatus for the supply and automatic unloading of reels or similar devices for coiling machines of the type comprising at least one horizontal rotating axis designed to receive a reel for forming a coil of wire thereon, comprising a slideway for storing thereon and supplying therefrom reels with the reels so arranged that their axes are parallel to the rotating axis of the coiling machine, and being so inclined as to permit the rolling of the stored reels to the slideway outlet station under the effect of gravity, with means being provided for ensuring the supply of one reel only at a time and its transfer from the outlet station to a lifting station where a rotating lifting device lifts the single reel to a position coaxial with the rotating axis of the coiling machine. The lifting device ensures at the same time the unloading of the completed coil and its transfer to an unloading station, with all the steps being carried out in perfect synchronism with the movements of the wire coiling machine.

  • Patent number: 3980244
Abstract: A wire coiling machine for the continuous winding of metal wire coils, of the type comprising supporting and pulling means for the driving of two reels with parallel axes, wire gripping means and wire guide means ensuring the uniform distribution of the wire to be wound, has arms or similar devices ensuring that the wire is passed from a completed coil to a new reel for starting another coil without having to interrupt the coiling operation and that the length of wire is maintained when passing from one coil to the next one always of the same length without exposing it to stresses which might cause breaking thereof.

  • Patent number: 3946582
Abstract: A wiredrawing diestock having wire inlet and outlet openings aligned coaxially with the a die aperture there-between. The diestock has a first chamber disposed around the wire inlet. It has a second chamber surounding the die. Several openings provide communication between the two chambers and allow the flow of liquids from the first to the second chamber. These latter openings have positions equally spaced from the axis of a wire being drawn through the wire inlet opening and the die. The openings have individual axes which converge at the axis of the wire at a point where the wire enters the die. The lubricating cooling liquid, fed under pressure to the first chamber, flows through these openings in streams having flow paths converging on the wire being drawn. The pressure of the liquid is maintained in the second chamber. Liquid can escape from that chamber only through the wire inlet and outlet openings, and these openings are largely filled by the wire passing through them.
