Abstract: A novel method to fabricate a needle includes stamping an elongated shape in a flat metal sheet. The elongated shape defines a longitudinal axis and two edges that are substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each of the two edges includes an inward curve with relative alignment to create a relatively narrow neck. A longitudinal channel is formed to give the elongated shape a U-shaped cross-section in a plane normal to the longitudinal axis. The method includes punching through the neck with a punch that slides along a punching axis that intersects the longitudinal axis with an angle in the range 15° to 50°. Alternatively the method includes coining a thinned region that spans the neck and may define a V-shape in a major plane of the flat metal sheet, and separating the elongated shape along the thinned region after coining.

Abstract: A level shifter having first and second P-type transistors cross coupled at an output port thereof, wherein there are first and second voltage rising circuits coupled at gates of the first and second P-type transistors, respectively. A voltage level at the gate of the first P-type transistor is associated with an output signal of the level shifter. When an input signal, operated by a first power, of the level shifter rises, the first voltage rising circuit couples a second power to the gate of the first P-type transistor to speed up the rising of the output signal. The voltage level at the gate of the second P-type transistor is associated with an inverted output signal. When the input signal falls, the second voltage rising circuit couples the second power to the gate of the second P-type transistor to speed up the rising of the inverted output signal.

Abstract: A communication system for recasting information communicated between a host system (smart phone, internet server) outputting an application generated signal, and a remote interface (in-vehicle display) so application content is displayed in a specified manner on the remote interface in accordance with a recast rule. The recast rules define how to interpret or analyze the application generated signal and recast content in that signal for output by the remote interface. The recast rules may be configured to detect control commands input by an operator, and in accordance with recast rules, generate a host control signal configured to operate some aspect of the host system.

Abstract: A wireless bidirectional communication system and method for tracking smart tags affixed to assets located within a defined area. Asset tracking is provided by a central processor operated by a user. The central processor combined with communication modules communicates with the system tags for deriving corresponding assets' locations. Communication is synchronized by way of broadcasting a clock generator signal over the communication link. The broadcasted clock signal is further used by the system for generating distinct time slots assigned to a tag by demand. Synchronizing the communication between the tags and the central processor is beneficial for maintaining reliable and short messages across the data link and maintaining low power draw from the tag battery.
Abstract: A sheet discharging tray device includes: a discharging section from which a sheet is discharged; a discharging tray on which the sheet discharged from the discharging section is stacked sequentially; a tray drive section which drives the discharging tray in a tray shift direction that is perpendicular to a sheet discharging direction from the discharging section with reference to a sheet surface; a controller which conducts a tray shift operation that shifts a position of the discharging tray under a condition of the number of sheets stacked on the discharging tray, and a sheet detection section which detects an alignment deviation in the tray shift direction. The controller changes an operation status of the discharging tray when a tray shift operation is conducted and changes a discharging operation of a sheet to the discharging tray, based on a detected result of the sheet detection section.

Abstract: A lightweight radio/CD player for vehicular application is virtually “fastenerless” and includes a case and frontal interface formed of polymer based material that is molded to provide details to accept audio devices such as playback mechanisms (if desired) and radio receivers, as well as the circuit boards required for electrical control and display. The case and frontal interface are of composite structure, including an insert molded electrically conductive wire mesh screen that has been pre-formed to contour with the molding operation. The wire mesh provides EMC, RFI, BCI and ESD shielding and grounding of the circuit boards via exposed wire mesh pads and adjacent ground clips. The major components and subassemblies self-interconnect by integral guide and connection features effecting “slide lock” and “snap lock” self-interconnection. The major components and subassemblies self-ground by establishing an interference fit with exposed, resilient, embossed portions of wire mesh.

Abstract: An interface device coupled between a computer system and a display system. The interface device includes a control module. The control module receives data from the computer system, and determines whether to display the data on the display system in a projection mode or in a media rendering mode according to operation signals inputted by a user. In the projection mode, the data includes static pictures. The control module projects the static pictures onto the display system in sequence. In the media rendering mode, the data includes a video stream. The control module controls the video stream to be transmitted from the computer system to the display system and controls the playback of the video stream on the display device. When in the projection mode and when the operation signal indicates that switching to the media rendering mode is required, the media rendering mode is activated in the projection mode.

Abstract: A compressor may include a shell, first and second scroll members, and a seal assembly. The shell defines a first and second pressure regions. The first scroll member may include a first end plate defining a chamber. The seal assembly may surround the discharge passage and fluidly separate the first and second pressure regions from each other. The seal assembly may include first and second sealing members. The first sealing member may prevent communication between the chamber and the second pressure region when a first fluid pressure within the second pressure region is higher than a second fluid pressure within the chamber. The first sealing member may define a leakage path when the first fluid pressure is lower than the second fluid pressure. The second sealing member may fluidly separate the chamber and the second pressure region when the first fluid pressure is lower than the second fluid pressure.
