  • Patent number: 11514327
Abstract: A method of forming a neural network includes specifying layers of neural network neurons. A parameter genome is defined with numerical parameters characterizing connections between neural network neurons in the layers of neural network neurons, where the connections are defined from a neuron in a current layer to neurons in a set of adjacent layers, and where the parameter genome has a unique representation characterized by kilobytes of numerical parameters. Parameter genomes are combined into a connectome characterizing all connections between all neural network neurons in the connectome, where the connectome has in excess of millions of neural network neurons and billions of connections between the neural network neurons.

  • Patent number: 11513343
Abstract: Methods and systems for capturing image information of an environment using a laser scanner are described. The systems include a rotatable mirror arranged to direct light received onto an imaging camera of the laser scanner. The mirror is rotatable relative to the imaging camera and the camera is stationary relative to a rotational axis of the mirror. The methods include rotating the mirror relative to the camera and capturing, via the camera, an image containing image information of the received light. Each pixel of the image contains image information of an accumulation of the received light along a corresponding trajectory during a mirror rotation and each individual trajectory has a trajectory that crosses another of the individual trajectories within the image.

  • Patent number: 11513723
Abstract: Aspects of a storage device including a memory and a controller are provided which optimize read look ahead (RLA) performance based on zone configurations or stored metadata. The controller stores in memory information previously received from a host, including a zone configuration or other information from which metadata associated with subsequent data to be pre-fetched in RLA may be determined. When the stored information includes the zone configuration, the controller reads data from memory in response to a host command and limits pre-fetching of subsequent data from the memory based on the zone configuration. When the stored information includes metadata, the controller reads the metadata associated with subsequent data from the memory, and limits pre-fetching of the subsequent data based on the metadata. Thus, resources of the storage device that are typically used for RLA may instead be used for other operations, improving the efficiency of the storage device.

  • Patent number: 11515936
Abstract: A satellite provides communication between user terminals (UTs) and ground stations that connect to other networks, such as the Internet. Because the satellite is within range of many UTs at any given time, many UTs are in contention to use an uplink to send data to the satellite. Each satellite manages uplink contention by maintaining state data representative of the uplink resources allocated for use. As satellites move, handovers take place, transferring communication services from a first satellite to a second satellite. Before a handover, a first satellite sends state data to a UT. The second satellite is also informed about the UT. After the handover, the second satellite provides the UT with priority access to the uplink to send the state data to the second satellite. The second satellite uses the state data to resume management of the uplink, eliminating the need for time consuming link setup.
