  • Publication number: 20160231957
Abstract: A memory system and method for power-based operation scheduling are provided. In one embodiment, a memory system begins to perform a plurality of operations in an order in which they are stored in a queue. Before performing a next operation in the queue, the memory system determines whether the power consumed by performing the next operation would exceed a maximum power threshold. In response to determining that the power consumed would exceed the maximum power threshold, the memory system selects an operation out of order from the queue to perform instead, so the maximum power threshold would not be exceeded. Other embodiments are provided.

  • Publication number: 20160233809
Abstract: A dynamic linear motor is controlled by determining a relative proximity of a moving rotor of the linear motor to a fixed stator segment of the linear motor using a current location of the moving rotor. A current driving characteristic of the linear motor at the current location of the moving rotor is determined. Settings for the fixed stator segment when the moving rotor reaches the fixed stator segment are identified based on the current driving characteristic. The fixed stator segment is driven based on the settings when the moving rotor reaches the fixed stator segment.

  • Patent number: 9413629
Abstract: An adverse event reporting system and related methods are provided. Aspects relate to associating a unique identifier of a device with resolution information configured to be automatically transmitted in response to an adverse event with the device. A consumer experiencing an adverse event with a remote device may use a communications device, such as a mobile phone, to capture and/or transmit the unique identifier, which may be located on or by the device. In one embodiment, capturing or deciphering the identifier causes the communications device to be directed to a virtual address for reporting the adverse event. The unique identifier may be used to automatically transmit resolution information to a second communications device that is not associated with the consumer. The second communications device may be associated with a vendor responsible for operation of the implicated device. The resolution information may comprise the identity and/or location of the device.

  • Patent number: 9412064
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for event based communication in a spiking neuron network. The network may comprise units communicating by spikes via synapses. The spikes may communicate a payload data. The data may comprise one or more bits. The payload may be stored in a buffer of a pre-synaptic unit and be configured to accessed by the post-synaptic unit. Spikes of different payload may cause different actions by the recipient unit. Sensory input spikes may cause postsynaptic response and trigger connection efficacy update. Teaching input spikes trigger the efficacy update without causing the post-synaptic response.

Abstract: Ultrasonic scanners and methods of manufacturing ultrasonic scanners. One embodiment of a method includes integrating a flexible electronic device (e.g. an IC) and a flexible ultrasonic transducer (e.g. a portion of a circular CMUT array) with a flexible member. The IC, the transducer, and the flexible member can form a flexible subassembly which is rolled up to form an ultrasonic scanner. The integration of the IC and the transducer can occur at the same time. In the alternative, the integration of the electronic device can occur before the integration of the transducer. Moreover, the integration of the transducer can include using a semiconductor technique. Furthermore, the rolled up subassembly can form a lumen or can be attached to a lumen. The method can include folding a portion of the flexible subassembly to form a forward looking transducer. The flexible member of some subassemblies can include a pair of arms.
