Abstract: A method of rate-control for a group of ports in a communication network. Ramping is performed for allowed-rate of each of the group of ports, if sum of the ingress-rates of the group of ports is less than a given rate threshold; and adjusting is performed for allowed-rate of each of the group of ports, if sum of the ingress-rates of the group of ports is greater than or equal to the given rate threshold, such that the sum of allowed-rates of the group of ports is equal to the given rate threshold.

Abstract: A package is made of a transparent substrate having an interferometric modulator and a back plate. A non-hermetic seal joins the back plate to the substrate to form a package, and a desiccant resides inside the package. A method of packaging an interferometric modulator includes providing a transparent substrate and manufacturing an interferometric modulator array on a backside of the substrate. A back plate includes a curved portion relative to the substrate. The curved portion is substantially throughout the back plate. The back plate is sealed to the backside of the substrate with a back seal in ambient conditions, thereby forming a package.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining resistive power loss through a channel between Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and a Powered Device (PD). The method includes (1) receiving indication that a PSE signal measurement is available from the PSE or a PD signal measurement is available from the PD, (2) selecting, as an input parameter to a processing operation, at least one of the PSE signal measurement or the PD signal measurement, (3) performing the processing operation to calculate a resistance value indicative of the resistive power loss through the channel between the PSE and PD based on the input parameter, and (4) outputting the resistive power loss value as a result of carrying out the processing operation.
Abstract: In an example embodiment, an apparatus such as an RFID tag, is configured to operate in a first mode that allows the tag to associate with the network and receive configuration data and to operate in a second mode wherein the apparatus is not associated with the network. The apparatus sends announcement packets while in the second mode in accordance with the configuration data received while in the first mode of operation.
Abstract: A network device has a network interface to allow the device to send and receive traffic across a network. The device also has a cable connection to allow the device to exchange data with at least one other device across a cable network. The device has a processor to receive traffic having a network identifier through the network interface and determine if the network identifier is associated with a virtual private network. If the network identifier is associated with a virtual private network, the device then routes the traffic to an appropriate receiving entity through the cable connection if the network identifier is associated with a local are network.
Abstract: A storage device has a memory module, a cover, and light-transmission elements. In one such storage device, a cover has light-transmission elements extending from opposing exterior surfaces of the cover. In a configuration of the memory module and the cover, the light-transmission elements are optically coupled to the light source.
Abstract: A method includes receiving signals comprising at least one of voice information and text teletype information. The method also includes determining whether at least some of the signals contain text teletype information. The method further includes coding any of the signals containing text teletype information using a text teletype coder. In addition, the method includes coding any of the signals containing voice information using a voice coder.
Abstract: This invention relates to processes for the production of organometallic compounds represented by the formula M(L)3 wherein M is a Group VIII metal, e.g., ruthenium, and L is the same or different and represents a substituted or unsubstituted amidinato group or a substituted or unsubstituted amidinato-like group, which process comprises (i) reacting a substituted or unsubstituted metal source compound, e.g., ruthenium (II) compound, with a substituted or unsubstituted amidinate or amidinate-like compound in the presence of a solvent and under reaction conditions sufficient to produce a reaction mixture comprising said organometallic compound, e.g., ruthenium (III) compound, and (ii) separating said organometallic compound from said reaction mixture. The organometallic compounds are useful in semiconductor applications as chemical vapor or atomic layer deposition precursors for film depositions.
Abstract: According to the present invention, methods and apparatus are provided to improve the link state routing protocol (LSRP) to prevent transient loops during topology changes. Broadcast and shared multicast traffic may be dropped on particular ports upon detecting link state change until neighboring nodes have computed routes using updated link state information. An acknowledgment is sent upon receiving a link state record. Sync and sync-ack packets are used to determine when link state information is synchronized with that of peer nodes.
Abstract: A unit pixel of an image sensor having a three-dimensional structure includes a first chip and a second chip which are stacked, one of the first chip and the second chip having a photodiode, and the other of the first chip and the second chip having a circuit for receiving information from the photodiode and outputting received information. The first chip includes a first pad which is projectedly disposed on an upper surface of the first chip in such a way as to define a concavo-convex structure, and the second chip includes a second pad which is depressedly disposed on an upper surface of the second chip in such a way as to define a concavo-convex structure corresponding to the concavo-convex structure of the first chip. The first chip and the second chip are mated with each other through bonding of the first pad and the second pad.
Abstract: A remote wake-up method is used between a first host, a second host, a server and the internet. The remote wake-up method includes the following steps. Firstly, the first host communicates with the server through the internet and an identity register procedure is performed. Then, the second host communicates with the server through the internet, an identity authentication procedure is implemented, and the server is triggered to issue a wake-up packet to the first host when the first host is in a wake-up waiting status. Afterwards, the first host enters a normal working status in response to the wake-up packet.
