Abstract: A pair of self-biased differential amplifiers having a non-symmetrical topology are combined to provide a self-biased differential amplifier having a symmetrical topology. Each of the combined differential amplifiers includes a pair of transistors coupled to each other as a current mirror. The current mirror transistors are coupled in series with a respective one of a pair of differential input transistors. A current source transistor is coupled to the differential input transistors, and it is self-biased by one of the current mirror transistors.

Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for maintaining configuration synchronization when an Active unit and a Standby unit have different versions of a software image. Preferred implementations allow the system to operate in a stateful mode even after the Standby unit has had an image upgrade. Other implementations allow the system to operate in a stateful mode when the Active unit has a higher-level version of the image than the Standby unit.

Abstract: A system for determining a minimum ignition coil charge duration of an internal combustion engine to meet a desired level of combustion stability includes a sensor in communication with a controller. The sensor is configured to measure the ionization current of a cylinder of the internal combustion engine and output to the dwell controller. The controller is configured to determine a combustion stability criterion based upon the ionization signal and determine the minimum ignition coil charge duration based upon the combustion stability criterion.
Abstract: A selective dry etch process includes use of an etchant that includes C2HxFy, where x is an integer from three to five, inclusive, where y is an integer from one to three, inclusive, and where x plus y equals six. The etchant etches doped silicon dioxide with selectivity over both undoped silicon dioxide and silicon nitride. Thus, undoped silicon dioxide and silicon nitride may be employed as etch stops in dry etch processes which utilize the C2HxFy-containing etchant. C2HxFy may be employed as either a primary etchant or as an additive to another etchant or etchant mixture.
Abstract: The invention is directed to techniques for selecting a resource from several resources to process a request from a client. A client sends the request to a data communications device (e.g., network device or switch), which measures usage information from usage meters associated with each resource (e.g., server). The data communications device then makes a usage estimate for each server of the increase in usage required for that server to process the request from the client. Then the data communications device selects one of the servers depending on the usage estimates required to respond to the client's request. The data communications device can consider other factors such as the current level of usage, past usage, and the increased cost of responding to the request. In addition, the data communications device can consider the peak usage level of each resource already established in a current billing period.
Abstract: An integrated circuit load board includes a substrate on which a plurality of integrated circuit sockets and an integrated test circuit are mounted. The integrated test circuit generates test signals that are applied to the integrated circuit sockets. The integrated test circuit also receives response signals from the integrated circuit sockets indicative of the manner in which integrated circuits in the sockets responded to the test signals. Several of the load boards may be placed on a test head that may be coupled to a host.
Abstract: An induction heating fixing device includes: a heating member for heating a recording medium while rotating along a paper passing direction, and an induction heating unit for heating the heating member, wherein: the heating unit has a plurality of induction coils arranged by being divided in an axial direction of the heating member, the plurality of induction coils comprises an internal induction coil arranged inside the heating member and an external induction coil arranged outside the heating member, and the internal induction coil and the external induction coil are arranged so as to overlap each other in the axial direction of the heating member.

Abstract: In a cellular telephone terminal having increased storage capability, ease of entry and access for data stored therein is provided through utilization of a computer equipped with a modem, a wired telephone network and the cellular telephone network. A user utilizes the ease of data entry implicit to modern computers through dedicated or existing personal information organizers to input data into a database, such as a personal dialing directory, at the computer. For the entering of data at the cellular telephone terminal, first the terminal, also equipped with a modem, is configured in a data download mode where data can be received from the computer and entered into on-board storage. The computer then places a modem telephone call to the terminal, either directly or through a network translator, and transfers the data into the terminal. The data is then accessible through standard data recall techniques using a display and interface keys on the telephone terminal.
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of photovoltaics and more specifically to manufacturing thin-film solar cells using a thermal process. Specifically, a method is disclosed to manufacture a CIGS solar cell by an in-situ junction formation process.
Abstract: According to the present invention, methods, data structures, and computer-readable media for processing input to a telephone having an interactive user interlace are disclosed. A telephone user inputs commands through buttons and keys on an interactive user interface. A selection made from a menu on the telephone is detected. The menu can be a collection of options, features or commands corresponding to physical context-sensitive soft keys or a line keys. A message based on the menu selection is created and passed to a menu processing object. If a soft key is pressed, the menu processing object is a soft key processing object. An event based on the menu selection is also created. It is then determined which mode from the numerous modes available on the phone is presently active or has focus. Once the active mode that presently has focus is determined, an appropriate menu label set and segment display is displayed on the display monitor.
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring nodes in a network are provided. A circular list of bins is maintained and each bin stores identifiers to zero or more nodes to be monitored. At periodic intervals, the nodes specified by a bin are processed such as by sending a polling message to the node. Additionally, responses from polling messages can also be processed at periodic intervals.
Abstract: A flexible circuit interposer includes a flexible circuit substrate which allows in-situ probing of an attached device during, for example, circuit debugging, assembly qualification, and the like. A first set of pads (and optionally a fourth set of pads) is configured in a predetermined pattern on the bottom surface of a flexible substrate. Similarly, a second set of pads is configured in substantially the same pattern on the top surface of the flexible substrate, wherein the pads in the second set of pads is electrically continuous with a pad in the first set of pads. A third set of pads is configured in substantially the same pattern on the top surface of the flexible substrate. One or more conductive traces are formed to connect one or more pads in the third set of pads with one or more pads in the first or the second set of pads.
Abstract: A system for providing a single number reachability solution for communications with a desktop telephone and a cellular telephone includes a mobility application coupled to a call management application. The call management application can associate a telephone number with a desktop telephone and a first communication port, receive a first telephone call initiated by a remote device and directed to the telephone number, and offer the first telephone call to the desktop telephone and to the first communication port. The mobility application can associate the first communication port with a cellular telephone, obtain a second communication port from multiple available communication ports in response to the offer, and place a second telephone call to the cellular telephone using the second communication port.

Abstract: A data compression system that dynamically adapts the degree of compression used in response to the priority of the data to be compressed is provided by virtue of one embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, only low priority data is compressed while high priority data is passed through to the network in uncompressed form. Also, the compression ratio can be varied depending on the priority of the data to allocate a larger portion of available bandwidth to higher priority traffic while imposing greater compression related delay on lower priority traffic.
Abstract: An electrical connector may include a connector housing and a plurality of identical leadframe assemblies received in the connector housing. Each of the leadframe assemblies may define a leadframe mating sequence. The leadframe assemblies may be arranged relative to one another to define a connector mating sequence that differs from the leadframe mating sequence. Each leadframe assembly may define a leadframe mounting footprint. The leadframe assemblies may be arranged relative to one another such that the leadframe mounting footprints are staggered, i.e., offset relative to one another.
