  • Patent number: 7319075
Abstract: A selective dry etch process includes use of an etchant that includes C2HxFy, where x is an integer from three to five, inclusive, where y is an integer from one to three, inclusive, and where x plus y equals six. The etchant etches doped silicon dioxide with selectivity over both undoped silicon dioxide and silicon nitride. Thus, undoped silicon dioxide and silicon nitride may be employed as etch stops in dry etch processes which utilize the C2HxFy-containing etchant. C2HxFy may be employed as either a primary etchant or as an additive to another etchant or etchant mixture.

  • Patent number: 7320131
Abstract: The invention is directed to techniques for selecting a resource from several resources to process a request from a client. A client sends the request to a data communications device (e.g., network device or switch), which measures usage information from usage meters associated with each resource (e.g., server). The data communications device then makes a usage estimate for each server of the increase in usage required for that server to process the request from the client. Then the data communications device selects one of the servers depending on the usage estimates required to respond to the client's request. The data communications device can consider other factors such as the current level of usage, past usage, and the increased cost of responding to the request. In addition, the data communications device can consider the peak usage level of each resource already established in a current billing period.

  • Patent number: 7319865
Abstract: In a cellular telephone terminal having increased storage capability, ease of entry and access for data stored therein is provided through utilization of a computer equipped with a modem, a wired telephone network and the cellular telephone network. A user utilizes the ease of data entry implicit to modern computers through dedicated or existing personal information organizers to input data into a database, such as a personal dialing directory, at the computer. For the entering of data at the cellular telephone terminal, first the terminal, also equipped with a modem, is configured in a data download mode where data can be received from the computer and entered into on-board storage. The computer then places a modem telephone call to the terminal, either directly or through a network translator, and transfers the data into the terminal. The data is then accessible through standard data recall techniques using a display and interface keys on the telephone terminal.

  • Patent number: 7319743
Abstract: According to the present invention, methods, data structures, and computer-readable media for processing input to a telephone having an interactive user interlace are disclosed. A telephone user inputs commands through buttons and keys on an interactive user interface. A selection made from a menu on the telephone is detected. The menu can be a collection of options, features or commands corresponding to physical context-sensitive soft keys or a line keys. A message based on the menu selection is created and passed to a menu processing object. If a soft key is pressed, the menu processing object is a soft key processing object. An event based on the menu selection is also created. It is then determined which mode from the numerous modes available on the phone is presently active or has focus. Once the active mode that presently has focus is determined, an appropriate menu label set and segment display is displayed on the display monitor.

  • Patent number: 7319667
Abstract: A data compression system that dynamically adapts the degree of compression used in response to the priority of the data to be compressed is provided by virtue of one embodiment of the present invention. In one embodiment, only low priority data is compressed while high priority data is passed through to the network in uncompressed form. Also, the compression ratio can be varied depending on the priority of the data to allocate a larger portion of available bandwidth to higher priority traffic while imposing greater compression related delay on lower priority traffic.
