  • Patent number: 10237182
Abstract: The present disclosure describes several key features of an agent deployable on a service appliance: agent architecture/design, transport and channel abstractions of the agent, new message definition components, channel switching (e.g., platform independent processing), Channel state machine, platform dependent hooks (e.g., memory, timers), Service key data store, and Secure channel infrastructure. Many of these features alleviate the vendor of the service appliance from having to provide the features. The features and standardization thereof enable the system to be more robust (and increases code quality). Speed of integration is decreased while the risk of integration issues is also decreased. Updates to the agent can be deployed in a controlled and efficient manner. Furthermore, the agent can ensure security between a switch and the agent.

  • Patent number: 10235988
Abstract: Apparatus for adaptively scheduling ultrasound device actions includes a probe interface, a beamer, a receiver, a processor, and a memory. The probe interface may interface with probe units to transmit signals generated by the beamer to the probe units and to receive data signals from the probe units. The processor may be coupled to the probe interface, the beamer, and the receiver. The memory may store instructions, which when executed by the processor, causes the processor to generate a task list and to signal to the beamer to generate signals to the probe units associated with the plurality of task actions. The task list may include a plurality of task actions associated with probe units, and the processor may signal to the beamer in accordance with a timed beam firing sequence. Other embodiments are also described.

  • Patent number: 10237189
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for correctly processing an interest in a content-centric network (CCN). During operation, a first node in the CCN receives an interest for a piece of content from a second node. The interest indicates a name of the piece of content and a hop count from the second node to a destination node advertising the piece of content. The system determines, based on forwarding information and information associated with pending interests stored on the first node, whether a distance-based forwarding condition is met; and in response to the distance-based forwarding condition being met, accepts the interest.

  • Patent number: 10236320
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fractal-edge thin film includes determining an area shape to be covered by the fractal-edge thin film. The method also includes generating a thin-film perimeter based upon the area shape, the thin-film perimeter having a fractal dimension exceeding one. The method also includes determining a photomask perimeter such that a photomask with the photomask perimeter, when used in a photolithography process, yields a fractal-edge thin film with the thin-film perimeter. The method may also include photolithographically etching a thin-film, the thin film having a photoresist layer disposed thereon, the photoresist layer having been exposed through the photomask, wherein the etching results in the fractal-edge thin film.

  • Patent number: 10237749
Abstract: Dynamic frequency selection (DFS) is often a requirement for a wireless local area network (WLAN) apparatus to prevent the apparatus from interfering with other systems that have a priority to a radio frequency (RF) channel. When DFS is executed, the WLAN apparatus ceases WLAN operations on the channel and searches for an open channel to resume WLAN operations. Often a WLAN apparatus misinterprets signals from another system as operating on the channel when actually the received signals are signals leaked into the channel from a system transmitting on a different channel. Presented herein are methods and apparatuses for preventing unnecessary DFS operations resulting from misinterpreted signals through the use of a signal to noise ratio determined from a pulse spectral density of the received signal.

  • Patent number: 10237647
Abstract: A beamformer system that can isolate a desired portion of an audio signal resulting from a microphone array. A combination of beamformers is used to dampen undesired noise, whether diffuse or coherent. A fixed beamformer is used to dampen diffuse noise while an adaptive beamformer is used to cancel directional coherent noise. The adaptive beamformer isolates and weights audio from various directions. The weights may vary depending on the isolated desired audio signal, dynamically adjusting the step-size adjustments to the weights.

  • Patent number: 10237233
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a system includes one or more memory units and one or more processing units. The memory units store blocks that each include a number of identifiers. The memory units include executable instructions that upon execution by the processing units cause the system to receive a request to allocate an identifier to an entity. The request includes data identifying the entity. A target block of identifiers is identified. The target block includes more unallocated identifiers than any other block. The target block is split into first and second blocks. The identifiers of the second block are each higher than any identifier of the first block. The second block is assigned to the entity, and a lowest identifier of the second block is allocated to the entity.

  • Patent number: 10237249
Abstract: A signature authority generates revocable one-time-use keys that are able to generate digital signatures. The signature authority generates a set of one-time-use keys, where each one-time-use key has a secret key and a public key derived from a hash of the secret key. The signature authority generates one or more revocation values that, when published, proves that the signature authority has the authority to revoke corresponding cryptographic keys. The signature authority hashes the public keys and the revocation values and arranges the hashes in a hash tree where the root of the hash tree acts as a public key of the signature authority. In some implementations, the one-time-use cryptographic keys are generated from a tree of seed values, and a particular revocation value is linked to a particular seed value, allowing for the revocation of a block of one-time-use cryptographic keys associated with the particular seed.

  • Patent number: 10236850
Abstract: A circuit and method is disclosed for filtering an audio signal. The circuit has a first quadrature source and multipliers for multiplying the input signal by the I and Q outputs of the quadrature source. The multiplied inputs are then passed through a pair of low pass filters, which may have an adjustable Q factor. The outputs of the low pass filters are then multiplied in a second pair of multipliers by the I and Q outputs, respectively, of a second quadrature source, which will typically be of the same frequency, but different amplitude and phase, of the first quadrature source. The twice-multiplied signals are then summed by an adder to provide an output signal. The circuit may be modified to include a companding circuit between the low pass filters and the second pair of multipliers that determines the amplitude of the input signal, filters it, and compands the signal in a compandor. The compandor may have adjustable parameters.

  • Patent number: 10233005
Abstract: Containers such as boxes or tubes may be lined with deflated air bladders or reservoirs. When an item is placed in such a container, the container may be sealed, and the air bladders or reservoirs may be charged with air until such bladders or reservoirs surround and fully cushion the item within the container. The bladders or reservoirs may be formed from lightweight and flexible materials, such as polyethylenes, polyphenylenes or other plastics, and charged with air manually or automatically from an external source via a valve or other component extending through the containers. An internal pressure within one or more of the bladders or reservoirs may be monitored during the charging, and the charging may be secured when the internal pressure meets or exceeds a predetermined threshold.
