Abstract: Gigabit Ethernet connectivity is realized using off-the-shelf GIGABIT INTERFACE CONVERTER transceivers, wave division multiplexer/demultiplexers, and a single optical fiber. Simultaneous and bi-directional optical communication over a single optical fiber connecting two or more nodes is achieved by using at least one GIGABIT INTERFACE CONVERTER transceiver having at least one optical signal output and an optical signal input that are of different wavelengths from each other.
Abstract: An electronics chassis, such as a computer chassis including various active electronic components having various heat dissipation rates and operating tolerances. A power supply and various components are housed in an enclosure. A component cooling system causes a first fluid to flow through an area surrounding the electronic components to cool the electronic components through convection. A power supply cooling system causes a second fluid to flow through an area surrounding the power supply to cool the power supply through convection by drawing fluid from an area external of said enclosure and exhausting fluid to an area external of said enclosure. The second fluid is isolated from the first fluid within the enclosure.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting motion in a large area with a single imaging device, such as a camera. A fixed object is located in the area and a camera is panned across the area with the fixed object remaining in the field of view of the camera. Successive images are adjusted based on the position of the fixed object within the image and the adjusted images are compared to detect movement with an area of overlap between the images.
