  • Patent number: 8587354
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a VDL/DLL architecture in which the power supply to the VDL, VccVDL, is regulated at least as a function of the entry point of the input signal (ClkIn) into the VDL. Specifically, VccVDL is regulated to be higher when the delay through the VDL is relatively small (when the entry point is toward the right (or minimum delay) edge of the VDL) and is reduced when the delay is relatively high (when the entry point is toward the left (or maximum delay) edge of the VDL). This provides for graduated delays across the stages of the VDL, but without the need to design each stage separately. Other benefits include a VDL/DLL design operable over a wider range of frequencies, and a reduced number of stages, including a reduced number of buffer stages. Moreover, when the disclosed technique is used, buffer stages may be dispensed with altogether.

  • Patent number: 8587604
Abstract: Effective color-aware search of a collection of content associated with one or more images is enabled. Content and/or its associated images may be automatically associated with representative palette colors in a suite of color palettes. Color palettes may be of a variety of types and have a hierarchical structure in which lower levels enable increasingly subtle distinctions between shades of color. Color palette hierarchies may be effectively presented, and appropriate portions emphasized based on associated search result sets. Search result sets may be refined and/or reordered in accordance with color palette selections and/or representative confidences of color palette selections for items at least referenced therein.

  • Patent number: 8587206
Abstract: An LED power supply device is provided. In the invention, a digital control device and a programmable interface are used to set an output specification of the LED power supply device, such that one smart LED power supply device can be used to supply power to the LED lamps of different specifications. In this way, it is unnecessary to specifically design and test the power supply devices for the LED lamps of different specifications, so that a design and production cycle of the LED power supply devices and costs thereof are greatly reduced. On the other hand, usage of the digital control device avails monitoring and controlling a state of the LED lamp, for example, implementing temperature control, time control, color and luminance control, etc., by which a service life, efficiency and flexibility of the LED lamp are enhanced.

  • Patent number: 8589385
Abstract: A remote browsing process is directed to the generation and management of a remote browse session at a network computing provider. A client computing device requests a remote browse session instance at a network computing provider. The network computing and storage provider processes the requested content for display, and provides a processed representation of the requested content to the client computing device for display. The network computing provider further provides a historical content representation corresponding to the requested content to a historical browse storage component for storage. The network computing provider may further provide historical content representations to the historical browse storage component for content directly or indirectly referenced by the requested content. The client computing device may subsequently search for content not previously displayed by the client computing device.

  • Patent number: 8585365
Abstract: A turbine rotor blade with a dual triple pass serpentine flow cooling circuit in which a first triple pass serpentine circuit flows along the pressure side wall and the second triple pass serpentine circuit flows along the suction side wall to provide near wall cooling to the two walls. The legs of the serpentine flow cooling circuits have slanted ribs that form diamond shaped mixing chambers such that a criss-cross flow path for the cooling air is formed. In one embodiment, the last leg of the first serpentine circuit provides cooling to the leading edge region with showerhead film holes while the last leg of the second serpentine provides cooling to the trailing edge region with a row of exit holes. In other embodiments, the two serpentine circuits flow in a forward or a rearward direction with two trailing edge cooling channels arranged in the trailing edge and with a separate leading edge cooling supply channel to provide cooling air form the leading edge region.

  • Patent number: 8588233
Abstract: A relay service enables two peers attempting to communicate with one another to each connect to a publicly-accessible relay server, which servers are associated with an overlay network and are selected by a directory service. After end-to-end connectivity is established, preferably the hosts communicate with each other by relaying data packets via the overlay network relay servers. Communications (both connection control messages and data being relayed) between a host and a relay server occurs at an application layer using a modified version of the TURN protocol.

  • Patent number: 8586394
Abstract: A method of making a sub-miniature “micro-chip” oxygen sensor is provided where multiple sensor elements are applied to a dielectric ceramic substrate consisting of a heater pattern, followed by a dielectric layer. Intermeshing electrodes are then applied either over the heater pattern/dielectric layers or on the opposite side of the substrate. The space between the intermeshing electrodes is filled with an n-type or p-type high temperature semiconductor which is covered by a porous protection layer. After singulation (dicing), the sensor element is assembled having conductors applied to the contact pads on the element and is packaged in an assembly for introduction to the exhaust stream of a combustion process. A large step-wise change in the resistance of the element takes place as a result of changes in oxygen content in the exhaust whereby one can determine if the exhaust is rich or lean for use in an engine management or combustion management systems for emissions control.

  • Patent number: 8590038
Abstract: A microprocessor includes an MSR and fuses. The microprocessor encounters an instruction requesting access to the MSR and specifying the MSR address, performs a function of the specified MSR address and a value read from the fuses to generate a first result, encrypts the first result with a secret key to generate a second result, compares the second result with an instruction-specified password, and allows the instruction to access the MSR if the second result matches the password and otherwise denies access MSR. Manufacturing subsequent instances of the microprocessor with a different fuse value effectively revokes the password. Alternatively, a control register of the microprocessor may be written by system software to override the fuse value and thereby revoke the password. The function may be XOR or concatenation, the encryption may be AES, and the secret key is externally invisible.
