  • Patent number: 11888013
Abstract: A sensing device includes a light source to emit light, a light sensor to detect reflection of the emitted light and distance determination circuitry responsive to reflected-light detection within the light sensor. The light sensor includes a photodetector having a photocharge storage capacity in excess of one electron and an output circuit that generates an output signal responsive to light detection within the photodetector with sub-hundred nanosecond latency. The distance determination circuitry measures an elapsed time based on transition of the output signal in response to photonic detection within the photodetector and determines, based on the elapsed time, a distance between the sensing device and a surface that yielded the reflection of the emitted light.

  • Patent number: 11883955
Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for performing a power-on self-test for a braking system in an autonomous delivery robot are described. One technique includes moving each wheel of the autonomous delivery robot in a first direction in accordance with predefined criteria, while brake module(s) of the braking system are engaged to one or more of the wheels to stop movement of the one or more wheels. A first amount of movement of at least a first wheel that is engaged to a first brake module is determined. Upon determining that the first amount of movement satisfies a predetermined condition, a determination is made that the braking system has failed the test and the brake module(s) of the braking system are kept in an engaged state.

  • Patent number: 11886702
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for speed bins to support memory compatibility are described. A host device may read a value of a register including serial presence detect data of a memory module. The serial presence detect data may be indicative of a timing constraint for operating the memory module at a first clock rate, where the timing constraint and the first clock rate may be associated with a first speed bin. The host device may select, for communication with the memory module, a second speed bin associated with a second clock rate at the host device and the timing constraint, where the host device may support operations according to a set of timing constraints that includes a set of values. The timing constraint may be selected from a subset of the set of timing constraints, where the subset may be exclusive of at least one of the set of values.

  • Patent number: 11887680
Abstract: Over time, the number of write cycles required to successfully program a multi-level cell (MLC) is reduced. Since a hard-coded value does not change over the lifetime of the device, the device may perform too many verify steps at one stage of the device lifetime and wait too long to begin verification at another stage of the device lifetime, reducing performance of the device. As discussed herein, verification for higher voltage level programming is delayed until verification for lower voltage level programming reaches at least a threshold level of success instead of using a hard-coded number of verify steps to skip. As a result, the performance drawbacks associated with skipping a hard-coded number of verify cycles may not occur.

  • Patent number: 11886728
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, memory devices, and machine-readable mediums that allows an application thread to indicate an undo logging operation when calculations are beginning that may need to be rolled back if a crash or other failure occurs. During the undo logging operation, memory writes an identified memory are done to a copy and the original value is preserved. If the undo logging operation is committed, then the copy becomes the correct value and may then be subsequently used in place of the original, or the value stored in the copy is copied to the original. If the undo logging operation is abandoned, the copy is not preserved and the value goes back to the original.
