Abstract: In one embodiment, a solution is provided wherein a minimum and/or maximum bandwidth may be guaranteed for specific flows. These guarantees can be associated to various levels of granularity, such as target (T), target-Logical Unit Number (LUN) coupling (TL), initiator-target-LUN coupling (ITL), and initiator-target coupling (IT). This may be accomplished by rate limiting frames in the storage area network based upon quality of service information provided by a user. As such, the traffic can be shaped in a way that guarantees requested levels of service without dropping frames.

Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a substrate, an epitaxial layer, a sinker, an active device, a first buried layer, and a second buried layer. The substrate has a first type conductivity. The epitaxial layer has a second type conductivity, and is located on the substrate. The sinker has the second type conductivity, and is located in the epitaxial layer. The sinker extends from the substrate to an upper surface of the epitaxial layer, and partitions a region off from the epitaxial layer. The active device is located within the region. The first buried layer has the first type conductivity, and is located between the region and the substrate. The second buried layer has the second type conductivity, and is located between the first buried layer and the substrate. The second buried layer connects with the sinker. Because of the above-mentioned configuration, latch-up can be prevented.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus can include: (i) a layer 3 point of attachment having an input configured to receive handoff indicative information from a mobile device substantially in parallel with the handoff indicative information being received in a layer 2 handoff function; and (ii) logic configured to perform a handoff facilitating action in response to the handoff indicative information.
Abstract: A system and method for remediation of contaminated soil are provided. The system comprises a soil remediation cell of contaminated soil and a plurality of multi-functional conduits located within the contaminated soil. Each multi-functional conduit defines a reaction housing. The multi-functional conduits includes heating elements for introducing heat into the contaminated soil for volatilizing the contaminants located within the contaminated soil, without utilizing mechanically driven forced air. This produces a contaminated vapor. The system and allows for re-circulation of vapors generated during breakdown of contaminants allowing for use of the re-circulated vapor for heat production and energy use. The system may be utilized for remote access and portability to disparate locations whereby the system does not require use of a container or receptacle. A substantial portion of the contaminants in the contaminated vapor are destroyed in the reaction housing.

Abstract: An inductor structure, including a winding turn layer and a shielding layer, is provided. The winding turn layer is disposed above a substrate. The winding turn layer has a plurality of turns, in which one of the turns is grounded. The shielding layer is disposed between the winding turn layer and the substrate at the projection of the grounded turn. At least parts of the winding turn layer except the grounded turn thereof are projected onto the shielding layer. The shielding layer is coupled to the grounded turn in parallel.
Abstract: A frame synchronization method is disclosed. The method comprises correlating a stream with a pattern to generate a correlated result c(t). A first peak and a second peak are selected from the correlated result c(t), wherein the first peak is the peak with highest amplitude, and the second peak is the peak occurring later than the first peak with the second highest amplitude. The peak ratio of the two peaks is computed, and the position of the frame boundary is determined according to the ratio.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus, including an image forming section, a fixing unit, a memory section and a control section having a cleaning mode, wherein after the sheet is conveyed to the image forming section, the control section controls the image forming section not to form an image on the sheet, and the sheet is conveyed to the fixing unit, after which the control section controls to clean the fixing member by removing remaining toner, and when sheet jamming is caused at the fixing unit while the cleaning mode is practiced, the control section controls the memory section to store at least one characteristic of the sheet that causes the sheet jamming, and when a succeeding cleaning mode is practiced, the control section prohibits selection of the sheet having the characteristic stored in the memory section, and selects the sheet having other characteristics to practice the cleaning mode.
