Abstract: Solvent-free, lithium-ion conductive solid polymer electrolytes containing an amorphous polyacrylonitrile polymer and an ionizable lithium salt are disclosed. The solid polymer electrolyte is prepared using a method that produces a solvent-free amorphous polyacrylonitrile copolymer without causing nitrile cyclization or cross-linking reactions to occur.
