Abstract: A hybrid engine and battery generator and a method of operating the same. The generator is controlled to operate in at least three modes: a battery-only mode, a battery charging mode, and a boost mode. In the battery-only mode, the engine is off and an internal battery of the generator is used by an inverter to generate AC output. In the battery charging mode, the engine generates DC power, via an alternator and rectifier, which is used to charge the battery and to supply power to the inverter to generate AC output. In the boost mode, the battery and the engine generate DC power that is used by the inverter to generate an AC output with increased wattage, relative to the battery-only mode and battery charging mode. The generator automatically switches between the modes based on battery level and load demand.

Abstract: A power tool includes a housing and an output shaft supported by the housing for rotation about an axis. The power tool further includes a first motor disposed in the housing and a second motor disposed in the housing and coupled to the first motor. The first motor drives the output shaft and does not drive the second motor when in a first power mode, and the second motor drives the first motor and the output shaft when in a second power mode.

Abstract: A trimmer head for use with a trimmer. The trimmer head includes a housing rotatable about an axis, the housing defining a cavity for receiving a spool carrying a length of trimmer line, the housing further defining a housing mating feature. The trimmer head also includes a first cap member having a first mating feature formed as one piece with the first cap member and operable to cooperate with the housing mating feature. The trimmer head also includes a second cap member having a second mating feature formed as one piece with the second cap member and operable to cooperate with the housing mating feature. The second cap member provides a cutting feature independent from the trimmer line. The first cap member and the second cap member are releasably and interchangeably coupleable to the housing without the use of tools.

Abstract: A system and method for a double source battery charger of an engine-generator. The double source battery charger of the engine-generator includes an electric starter and a battery. The electric starter is selectively energized by the battery to start an engine of the engine-generator. The double source charger maintains the battery at a desired charge such that the battery has sufficient charge to energize the electric starter. The double source battery charger is selectively coupled to one of two power sources to charge the battery: an alternator of the engine-generator and an external AC source, such as a standard 120 Volt or 240 Volt wall outlet. As a result, the battery is charged by either power from a wall outlet or, if the generator is running, by power provided from the alternator.

Abstract: A choke assembly for an internal combustion engine comprising a user interface, a fuel valve, and a choke valve. The choke assembly further comprising an off position, in which the user interface is in a first position, the fuel valve is in a closed position, and the choke valve is in a closed position; a start position, in which the user interface is in a second position, the fuel valve is in an open position, and the choke valve is in the closed position; and a run position, in which the user interface is in a third position, the fuel valve is in the open position, and the choke valve is in an open position.

Abstract: A gas tiller including a frame defining a first pivot axis and a second pivot axis spaced a distance from the first pivot axis, a motor coupled to the frame, a set of rotary tines coupled to the frame and operatively coupled to the motor, a swing arm pivotably coupled to the frame and rotatable about the first pivot axis between a first and second arm positions corresponding to travel and tilling configurations, respectively, of the tiller, the swing arm including one or more wheels coupled thereto, and a drag stake pivotably coupled to the frame and rotatable about the second pivot axis between first and second stake positions. Movement of the swing arm between the arm positions moves the drag stake between the stake positions.

Abstract: A trimmer head configured for operating in a fixed line configuration and a bump-feed configuration. The trimmer head includes a base including a cup having a top wall and a substantially cylindrical side wall defining an aperture. The base also includes a collar extending axially from the top wall of the cup for coupling the trimmer head with the output shaft. A fixed line head is at least partially received within the cup when the trimmer head is in the fixed line configuration and a bump-feed spool is at least partially received within the cup of the base when the trimmer head is in the bump-feed configuration.

Abstract: A pressure washer is provided. The pressure washer includes a fluid inlet and a pump disposed to receive fluid from the fluid inlet. A spray gun is provided that includes a first outlet and a separate second outlet. A first conduit fluidly connects the fluid inlet and the pump with the first outlet and a second conduit fluidly connects the fluid inlet with the second outlet.

Abstract: A portable pressure washer system includes a frame having at least one strap configured such that the frame is supported by a user by way of the at least one strap. A torque generating device is supported by the frame and has an output shaft. A pump is selectively coupled to the output shaft to receive a torque generated by the torque generating device. The pump includes an inlet for connecting to a remote fluid source and an outlet for connecting to a high pressure fluid delivery mechanism. The pump receives a fluid from the remote fluid source by way of the inlet, is driven by the torque generating device to raise a pressure of the fluid to a high pressure fluid, and delivers the high pressure fluid to the high pressure fluid delivery mechanism by way of the outlet.

Abstract: A floor cleaning attachment is configured to attach to a pressure washer lance to receive a flow of fluid. The floor cleaning attachment includes a housing that defines a suction space and includes an attachment point configured to attach to the pressure washer lance to receive the flow of fluid. A rotatable brush is coupled to the housing, a vacuum producing member is coupled to the housing, and a valve is coupled to the housing and movable between a first position in which the flow of fluid is directed onto a floor, a second position in which the flow of fluid is directed to the vacuum producing member to produce a partial vacuum, and a third position in which the flow of fluid is directed to the rotatable brush to rotate the brush.
