  • Patent number: 6978570
Abstract: An adjustable swivel base assembly and track for swivel mounting fishing boat downrigger or planar board masts, including a planar mounting base plate, a pair of stationary riser supports on the base plate, and a planar bottom bearing plate stationarily supported on the upper ends of the supports. Vertically spaced planar bottom and top bearings are stationarily affixed to the bearing plate and a planar swivel top plate is supported on and sandwiched slidably between the bearings, and is adapted to carry and swivel the mast load. An indexable locking system selectively locks the swivel plate in any one of a plurality of angularly spaced positions. A track is mounted on a fishing boat and has side edge flanges with mutually facing in-turned lips that overlap opposite side edges of the base plate when slidably and releasably mounted in the track.

  • Patent number: 6974113
Abstract: Adjustable holder apparatus for holding a trolling fishing rod in various upright orientations on a boat-mounted track. The apparatus includes a track-mounted base plate, a pivot bracket on the base plate, and a rod holder for detachably mounting and cantilever supporting the rod upright on the holder. A locking gear is fixed to the holder and pivotally secured to the bracket by a pivot pin for supporting the holder on the base plate for pivotal motion of the fishing rod for pivotally raising and lowering the rod. The gear has a circumferentially extending row of locking teeth arrayed in the holder pivot plane. A locking handle mechanism includes a locking pin bodily movable by the mechanism into and out of locking engagement with a selected root space between any two of the locking teeth for adjustably holding said holder in selected angularly spaced positions in the pivot plane.

  • Patent number: 6918160
Abstract: A four-bar hinge linkage and fold-down support assembly, such as an armrest, seat bottom, table top and the like especially suited for marine use in watercraft applications. The support member is pivotally supported by first and second four-bar hinge linkages for articulation from a stationary upright support structure affixed to the watercraft. Each of the four-bar hinge linkages comprises a support-structure-mounting bracket, a main hinge link, a shorter control/locking link and a support-member-mounting bracket. Each of the linkages articulates the support member between an upright stored position and a folded-down in-use position wherein, the swinging end of the control/locking link swings up and beneath the hinge link so that an end edge of the control/locking link abuts in line-to-line contact at an abutment locking point along the lower edge of the hinge link, each linkage being thus locked together to form a triangular support truss.

  • Patent number: 6499712
Abstract: An electro-mechanical dual linear drive system for adjustably power moving a watercraft seat along a linear travel path. A pair of elongate extruded hollow aluminum rails are mounted in parallelism to a fixed seat support structure. An elongate extruded aluminum hollow slide is non-rotatably and slidably mounted within each rail and driven in a linear travel path for moving the seat load. A lead screw is rotatably mounted within each slide and rail and a traveling nut on each lead screw moves the associated slide. A gear reduction drive mounted on each rail is driving coupled for rotating the associated lead screw. A single electric motor is rotationally drivingly coupled to both gear drive units for synchronously rotating the lead screws in response to motor rotation. Each rail and slide are non-circular and complementary for restraining relative rotation therebetween. A laterally protruding flange along one side edge of the rail bottom wall provides an exteriorly accessible mounting flange on the rail.

  • Patent number: 6131340
Abstract: A weatherproof sliding door assembly for opening and closing a boat cabin companionway wherein upper and lower aluminum track C-channel rails are supported to extend generally horizontally above and below the companionway. Each rail has a hollow interior slideway and a longitudinally extending slot opening thereto. A flexible plastic door panel has upper and lower edges respectively juxtaposed to the upper and lower rails and slidably mounted therein by upper and lower slide and cap panel-clamping sub-assemblies respectively that are secured by clamping to the door panel upper and lower edges and that extend the full length thereof. Each sub-assembly has a first leg wall extending therefrom into the associated rail slideway via the rail slot opening and terminating therein in a glide carrier portion. A pair of glides are mounted on each glide carrier portion adjacent its longitudinally opposite ends and bear slidably on the rail slideway for supporting the door panel for sliding motion along the rails.

  • Patent number: 6056359
Abstract: A power boat helmsman's station chair having a two-section seat bottom articulated by a pivotal hinge framework so that the front section of the seat can be folded up from its normal position as a horizontal extension of the rear section of the seat bottom to a position raised and disposed over the rear section. Port and starboard hinge subassemblies include a L-shape angle corner bracket that is fastened to both the bottom and the side boards of the rear seat section framework, thereby reinforcing the same, and that pivotally carries one end of an associated hinge arm fastened at its other end to the framework of the seat bottom front section. A one piece plastic member of generally inverted V-shaped configuration has one arm fixed to the upright flange of the comer bracket with the other arm disposed for spring latching, camming engagement with a cam follower edge surface of the pivot end of the hinge arm.

  • Patent number: 4637081
Abstract: An articulated back-to-back fold-down chair seat and side-rail track construction wherein the seats are mounted on slides which telescopically engage associated rails affixed to a chair platform support. The rails and slides have an interfitting cross-sectional configuration. Each seat has a stop with a dependent leg protruding downwardly within the confines of the platform to limit the movement of the chair in the fold-down couch position.
