White cotton used as a member (20) for intercepting radiant heat is installed within the vacuum layer in the surrounding wall, and a radiant heat reflective layer (22) of aluminum foil, etc. is installed on the surface of the surrounding wall facing the heating chamber.

    Abstract: A transport mechanism for printed circuit boards is comprised of two endless drive members, movable carriers installed between these two drive members and one pair of parallel guide rails to support the carriers while moving in a horizontal state. The drive members extend diagonally between horizontal upper and lower runs on both ends of the mechanism. The carriers are installed at fixed intervals along the length of the drive members. The carriers are also provided with a roller member on both sides of the carrier to run on the upper part of the guide rail. The guide rail is further installed diagonally along the diagonal portion of the drive members at fixed intervals in order to support the carrier horizontally while in a diagonal state of movement.

    Abstract: An automatic soldering apparatus for soldering a printed circuit board having a plurality of electronic parts mounted thereon to be soldered while it is transported through a heating chamber having an inert gas fill therein is provided. Further, the apparatus has a supply of an inert gas and nozzles provided in the first and second stations. The inert gas is jetted through the nozzles toward the first and second openings, when required, so as to prevent outside air from flowing into the heating chamber.

    Abstract: A known type of fuel injector has a discharge passage which can be closed off by a tip sealing valve and provision for circulating fuel in the vicinity of the discharge passage. In order to test that the passage is completely closed by the tip sealing valve, the passage is closed, and the injector is blocked off from the supply and return lines while remaining full of fuel. An attempt is made to introduce more fuel into the injector and, if a significant amount can be introduced, it means that there is leakage from the injector, presumably through the discharge passage.

    Abstract: A method of controlling spectroscopic analysis in which a sample in liquid concentrate form and containing an element of interest, is nebulized and carried into an analysis zone by pressurized support gas. The invention comprises regulating the flow rate of the support gas to control the density of atoms of the element present in the analysis zone so as to be within a measurable range. The flow of support gas controls sample uptake at the nebulizer, and that uptake is reduced by dividing the gas flow before the nebulizer so that one part by-passes the nebulizer but is nevertheless directed into the analysis zone so that the total gas flow to the analysis zone remains constant.
