    Abstract: A method for producing a flap pocket in a panel of an item comprises forming in the panel a slit having a preselected contour to define a flap having a body integral with the panel. An aperture is formed in the panel at a location outside of the slit. Thereafter, a pocket having a lateral opening is attached around the aperture so that the lateral opening is positioned over the flap.
