  • Patent number: 12150628
Abstract: A biopsy device having a biopsy needle including an outer cutting needle and an inner sample needle with a tissue compartment. The device can, during each sampling operation, displace the outer cutting needle and the inner sample needle between open and closed positions of the tissue compartment. The biopsy device includes a vacuum source and a valve system to provide a pressure decrease in the tissue compartment at each sampling operation. The vacuum source has the form of at least one initially pre-evacuated vacuum container, and the biopsy device, by means of the initial vacuum of the at least one initially pre-evacuated vacuum container, provides a pressure decrease in the tissue compartment of the inner sample needle at each one of a limited number of consecutive sampling operations.

  • Patent number: 12035897
Abstract: A tissue collection device including a biopsy needle support arrangement to support a biopsy needle so that a tissue compartment in the biopsy needle may be located at a collection position. The tissue collection device includes a carrier medium adapted to adhere to and carry a tissue sample deposited thereon and adapted to be arranged at a deposition position permanently spaced from the collection position. The tissue collection device includes a swiping element adapted to swipe sideward relative to the longitudinal direction through the tissue compartment located at the collection position and in the direction of the deposition position in order to thereby move a tissue sample from the tissue compartment to the carrier medium and to thereby press the tissue sample onto the carrier medium so that the tissue sample is deposited on the carrier medium.

  • Patent number: 11457901
Abstract: A tissue collection device (1) for collection of one or more exposed tissue samples (2) from a biopsy needle or biopsy device, which tissue collection device comprises one or more pieces of a carrier medium (6) and is arranged to temporarily bring a piece of carrier medium into physical contact with the tissue sample, while the tissue sample is still positioned in the biopsy needle or biopsy device, so that the tissue sample (2) adheres to the carrier medium (6) and is removed from the biopsy needle (3) or biopsy device (4) with the carrier medium (6), when the carrier medium (6) is removed from the biopsy needle or biopsy device again. Furthermore, a biopsy device comprising such a tissue collection device is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11026665
Abstract: A handheld device for extracting tissue samples includes a needle arrangement and control arrangement. The needle arrangement has a cutting needle, a sample extraction needle, and a first end for inserting into tissue. The cutting needle has a cutting edge for cutting the tissue sample. The sample extraction needle has a side opening for receiving the tissue. The control arrangement has a vacuum chamber in fluid communication with the sample extraction needle. The vacuum chamber has a first member and a second member that move relative to each other. The first member is mechanically connected to the cutting needle. The handheld device is configured so that movement between the first and second members to increase volume of the vacuum chamber thereby reduces pressure in the sample extraction needle, induces movement between the cutting needle and the sample extraction needle to expose the side opening.
