The drive mechanism is operatively connected to the plate and the blade assembly causing the plate to cut the head rail while, at the same time, causing the blade assembly to cut the bottom rail and the blind slats.

The securement member and the adjustment member, in cooperation, are suitable for adjustably moving or tilting the plurality of blind slats to open and close the window covering. A blind slat tilting mechanism causes positional adjustment of the plurality of blind slats by raising and lowering at least the adjusting member.

    Abstract: A pulling device for a roll shaft for roller blinds or screens comprises a housing, a chain pulley situated in the housing and a chain slung around the pulley. The chain is formed by a cord with a number of beads distributed at regular interval along the length. The pulley is provided with a central channel and a series of notches at the periphery to receive the cord portion and the beads of the chain, respectively. The chain is readily pulled to drive the pulley and, in turn, the roller shaft, to wind up or to unwind a roller blind or screen. When the pulling force is released the pulley will be automatically braked by means of the chain itself by the gravity of the roller blind or screen.

An automated process is used to cut preassembled blinds to provide custom-size blinds for such windows. The apparatus preferably includes twin cutters arranged to trim both ends of a slat simultaneously, and is shaped, sized and configured to do so while the slat remains preassembled in a blind. The apparatus also preferably includes a vertical bed for suspending a blind in an opened and generally taut condition--and a mechanism for moving the cutter vertically along the bed to cut each slat in turn. Preferably the apparatus automatically registers the cutter with each slat and interrupts the cutting sequence after the last slat is cut. Optical sensing is preferably used to obtain the automatic registration.
