Abstract: A polycarbonate resin composition which has excellent low-temperature impact resistance and flowability high enough to enable thin molding and provides a coated molded article having a good appearance and high impact resistance. The resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a resin component including a polycarbonate resin (component A) and a polycarbonate-polydiorganosiloxane copolymer resin (component B) and 0.5 to 2.5 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin (component C).
Abstract: An adhesive laminate comprising (A) a light-transmitting substrate layer formed from a melt extruded thermoplastic resin, (B) a hard coat layer formed by using a hard coating agent comprising not less than 13 wt % of colloidal silica and/or an alkoxysilane hydrolysis condensate based on the total weight of the layer B excluding a solvent, (C) an adhesive primer layer, and (D) an elastic adhesive layer. Layers (A)-(D) are formed in this order. Layer C is formed from a primer composition comprising a silane coupling agent and has a thickness of 1 to 20 ?m and an indentation elasticity modulus of 500 to 4,000 MPa. Layer D has a thickness (Y) of 0.9 to 14 mm.

Abstract: A colored biaxially stretched polyester film for metal plate attachment and forming processing, includes three layers: opposite surface layers (layers A) that contain substantially no coloring pigment and are made of a copolyester having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.65 to 0.80 and a melting point (TmA) of 230 to 260° C.; and a core layer (layer B) that has a coloring pigment content of more than 10 wt % and 50 wt % or less and is made of a copolyester having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.55 to 0.70 and a melting point (TmB) of 230 to 260° C. The film has a surface roughness within a range of 10 to 40 nm, and (TmB?TmA) is 4° C. or less.
Abstract: A copolyester includes repeating units derived from an aliphatic glycol, terephthalic acid, and the monomer of formula (I): wherein n=2, 3 or 4; Z is C?O; comonomer (I) constitutes a proportion of the glycol fraction of the copolyester and is present in a range of from about 5 to about 15 mol % of the glycol fraction of the copolyester; wherein said copolyester is semi-crystalline. A process tor making the copolyester includes annealing a copolyester of formula (I) at 20-80° C. below the crystalline melting point (Tm) and above the glass transition temperature (Tg).

Abstract: A ballistic resistant article includes at least one consolidated composite, wherein the at least one consolidated composite includes a layer A and a layer B bonded to one another. Each, layer A and B exhibits a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a cross-section extending from the first surface to the second surface, and includes a network of fibers having a strength of at least 800 mN/tex (1100 MPa), and the fibers in each layer A and B are impregnated with a matrix material. The matrix material is distributed along the cross-section of each layer in a concentration gradient in which the concentration starts with a maximum value on the first surface, decreases along the cross-section and reaches a minimum value on the second surface. The matrix material includes a mixture of a polychloroprene, and a random copolymer of vinyl chloride and an acrylic ester.

Abstract: A problem of the invention is to provide a colored organic fiber that has a deep color and excellent flame retardancy, a cloth and garments each composed of the foregoing organic fiber, and a method for producing a cloth. To solve this problem, a colored organic fiber having a content of a carrier agent of 1.8% by mass or less relative to the fiber mass is provided. A cloth or garments are obtained, if desired.
Abstract: An organic phosphorus-based compound which satisfies the following requirements (i) to (viii) and is represented by the following formula (1): (i) the organic purity should be not lower than 98%; (ii) the solubility in 20° C. water should be not higher than 0.1 g/100 g of water; (iii) the total halogen component content should be not higher than 1,000 ppm; (iv) the total volatile organic matter content should be not higher than 800 ppm; (v) the ? pH value should be not larger than 1.0; (vi) the volume standard median diameter should be not larger than 30 ?m; (vii) the maximum particle diameter should be not larger than 200 ?m; and (viii) the standard deviation represented by the following formula should be not larger than 20 ?m. Standard deviation=(d84%+d16%)/2; wherein d84%: particle diameter at a point where the cumulative curve becomes 84% (?m), and d16%: particle diameter at a point where the cumulative curve becomes 16% (?m).
Abstract: A friction paper including filler, para-aramid pulp, and resin, characterised in that the para-aramid pulp includes 0.1 to 10 wt. % of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), the paper having a grammage in the range of 100 to 800 g/m2. It has been found that the use of a PVP-containing para-aramid pulp leads to improved friction performance as compared to the use of para-aramid pulp not containing PVP. Effects obtained include improved friction properties, improved strength properties, and improved filler retention.
