Patent number: 10917814Abstract: To control content delivery to plural clients of a mobile communication network, a network entity of the mobile communication network collects geo information of the plural clients and evaluates the collected geo information of the plural clients based on a rule to determine whether the content delivery is to be adapted. The network entity identifies a region for which the content delivery is to be adapted. The network entity selectively outputs a message to a controlling entity if it is determined that the content delivery is to be adapted. The controlling entity controls the content delivery in response to receiving the message, to adapt the content delivery for clients located in the identified region.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2019Date of Patent: February 9, 2021Assignee: Telefonakiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Heiko Perkuhn, Markus Kampmann, Rene Rembarz

Publication number: 20200136707Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method for use in a network node of transmitting reference signals in a wireless network using a plurality of beams comprises obtaining a node identifier for the network node. The node identifier is unique for neighboring network nodes within a particular coverage area of the wireless network. The method further comprises obtaining a group of reference signal sequences. The group comprises a subset of a pool of possible reference signal sequences for use in the wireless network. Each reference signal sequence is associated with a beam reference identifier. The method further comprises selecting a reference signal sequence from the obtained group: scrambling a reference signal transmission pattern using the obtained node identifier and the selected reference signal sequence with associated beam reference identifier; and transmitting the scrambled reference signal transmission pattern to a user equipment on one of the beams among the plurality of beams.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2017Publication date: April 30, 2020Applicant: Telefonakiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Pradeepa RAMACHANDRA, Icaro L. Publication number: 20130225227Abstract: A method in a base station for calculating a power relating to a first radio access is provided. The power is to be shared with a second radio access within the base station. The base station communicates with a number of user equipments using the first radio access. When the base station has estimated a statistic power distribution of transmit power to said user equipments during a time interval, it calculates a margin of power not to be shared with the second radio access, based on the estimated statistic power distribution. The base station further calculates a power to be shared with the second radio access, based on said margin of power.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2010Publication date: August 29, 2013Applicant: TELEFONAKIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Mårten Ericson, Arne Simonsson

Patent number: 8509120Abstract: Techniques for managing multiple ICS sessions in an IMS network are described. In one method, a MSC server detects that a user terminal has been transferred from a first access network to a second access network and, in response, sends a message to an SCC AS, the message indicating transfer of the user terminal. The MSC server receives, in response, one or more requests for MSC server-assisted mid-call feature services for the user terminal, and assigns transaction identifiers to one or more sessions held for the user terminal or to one or more conference participants corresponding to the user terminal. Corresponding techniques carried out at an SCC AS are also described.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2010Date of Patent: August 13, 2013Assignee: Telefonakiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Ivo Sedlacek, Ralf Keller

Patent number: 7225382Abstract: The invention relates to incremental redundancy operation, and a basic idea of the invention is to provide an extended acknowledgment feedback, for each of a number of data blocks, from the receiving side to the transmitting side to enable indication whether any soft information associated with at least one sub-block of the data block has been stored in memory at the receiving side. This information helps the transmitter to select which of the data blocks that may be suitable to retransmit next. For example, by first retransmitting data blocks for which one or more sub-blocks are already stored in the receiver memory, the probability of successful decoding of these data blocks increases, and thus the corresponding sub-blocks can be removed from memory, allowing room for sub-blocks of new data blocks. This significantly improves the utilization of the memory on the receiving side, increases throughput and reduces delay.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2004Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: Telefonakiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Rajaram Ramech, Jacob Singvall, Johan Axnäs, Tomas Jönssonl

Publication number: 20050163103Abstract: The present invention is generally based on the recognition that the true admissible regions for a multi-service traffic mix can be well approximated by a construction of a non-linear admissible region and one or more linear admissible regions. This makes it possible to accurately control admission of a new connection onto a transport link by checking whether the multi-service traffic mix defined by previously admitted connections together with the new connection is contained within an intersection on a non-linear admissible region and at least one linear admissible region, and admitting the connection if the traffic mix is contained within the intersecton of regions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2002Publication date: July 28, 2005Applicant: Telefonakiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Szabolcs Malomsoky, Szilveszter Nadas, Sandor Racz

Patent number: 5943687Abstract: Cache data replacement techniques enable improved performance in a computer system having a central processing unit (CPU), a cache memory and a main memory, wherein the cache memory has a plurality of data items stored therein. The cache data replacement techniques include associating a priority value with each of the stored data items, wherein for each data item, the priority value is an estimate of how much CPU stall time will occur if an attempt is made to retrieve the data item from the cache memory when the data item is not stored in the cache memory. When a cache entry must be replaced, the priority values are analyzed to determine a lowest priority value. One of the data items that has the lowest priority value is selected and replaced by a replacement data item.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1997Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Assignee: Telefonakiebolaget LM EricssonInventor: N Per .ANG.
