Abstract: A system, a method, and a graphical user interface testing tool are described herein for constructing a validation trace (i.e., high-speed realistic network traffic) using a real network without causing privacy concerns. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: (a) providing a client device which has one or more applications operating thereon and a graphical user interface; (b) recording user interactions on the client device; (c) extracting usage scenarios from real network traffic in the real network; (d) emulating user actions on the client device according to a specific user scenario by utilizing the recorded user interactions and the extracted usage scenarios to generate additional real traffic in the real network; and (e) creating the validation trace based on the generated additional real traffic and the extracted usage scenarios.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for sigma-delta modulation with a reduced periodic noise (idle noise) in a sigma-delta modulator. The reduction is achieved by means of addition of two different Dither signals (217,218) to the sigma-delta modulator. A first Dither signal (218) is constituted by a particular bit pattern of a certain period while a second Dither signal (217) is constituted by a pseudo-random signal of a certain other period.

Abstract: A method and apparatus in a system comprising cordless telecommunication utilize fuzzy-logic to evaluate at least two radio communication parameters when making a handoff decision, or to produce basic data on which a handoff decision can be made. The parameters are assigned membership to at least two input data sets, each having its own membership function. The parameters are divided into groups and a rule table of fuzzy-condition statements is formed. The fuzzy-condition statements are executed and the consequences weighted to a crisp-value which is used in conjunction with handoff. The inventive apparatus includes a fuzzy-processing unit for grouping parameters and executing rules, a unit for determining the crisp-values, for instance the average value, maximum value and/or the minimum value of rule consequences, and an evaluating unit which uses the crisp-values in conjunction with establishing a candidate list or in making a handoff decision.
