    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for performing service authorization for a product-related service to a subscriber in a communication network. If the service authorization request for the subscriber is received prior to a beginning of a pre-execution time window, and if the service authorization request corresponds to a scheduled service recurrence, then a validity period for a granted service quota is adjusted to ensure that a subsequent service authorization request for the subscriber will be received within the pre-execution time window. Use of the service by the subscriber with respect to one or more products is then authorized, wherein any given product has a coverage limit which covers a defined amount of service usage within the validity period.

    Abstract: Reducing network congestion using a load balancer is described. The load balancer receives network traffic for processing work for a delay-sensitive application. The load balancer is coupled with multiple application instances executing on compute nodes that are each capable of processing the work. The load balancer determines from the network traffic whether there is an indication of network congestion. If there is an indication of network congestion, the load balancer selects one of the application instances for processing the work based at least in part on reducing the network congestion. The load balancer causes the work to be processed at the selected application instance.

The controlling node decodes (750) bits from the first wireless transmission using both the first and second soft bit information. The controlling node may then signal the antenna processing nodes that they can discard buffered information for the wireless transmission.
