Publication number: 20090257533Abstract: A receiver receives and front-end processes a plurality of component carrier signals, each carrier spaced apart in frequency. The digitized, baseband component carrier signals are inspected to determine estimates of timing offsets between the carriers. A control unit selects a first component carrier signal having data scheduled to the receiver. If data is scheduled to the receiver on other component carrier signals, the control unit generates timing and frequency offset adjustment control signals to time- and frequency-align each other component carrier signal having relevant data, to the first component carrier signal. All the relevant component carrier signals are then combined, and a single OFDM symbol, spanning all the relevant component carriers, is presented to an FFT for symbol detection.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2008Publication date: October 15, 2009Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventors: Bengt Lindoff, Niklas Andgart, Fredrik Nordstrom

Publication number: 20090125628Abstract: Real-time service composition is provided by a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) transport binding for Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) messages. A SOAPAction header and SOAP envelope can be included in a SIP message to identify a requested service. The SIP message recipient can parse out the SOAP envelope and forward same to a corresponding Web Service. An intermediary node, including a SIP Proxy, can evaluate incoming SIP/SOAP messages and provide requested services to which they have access. Service discovery and subscription are facilitated by adding Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) services requests and responses.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2007Publication date: May 14, 2009Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventor: Torbjorn Dahlen

Publication number: 20080207196Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for gathering statistics relating to random access operation in a cell of a cellular radio communication network and supervising such random access operation. Statistics are gathered (301), per random access preamble code, relating to random access detections associated with one or more random access preamble codes used in the cell. Based on such gathered statistics, random access operation in the cell may be supervised by evaluating (311) the gathered statistics and, upon determining (312) that the random access detections associated with a specific random access preamble code exhibit an abnormal behaviour likely to be caused by false random access preamble detections, initiating (313) at least one of issuing a corresponding operation and maintenance alarm signal and automatically blocking further use of said specific random access preamble code in the cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2005Publication date: August 28, 2008Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventor: Jan Pettersson

Publication number: 20060050664Abstract: A unified and flexible signaling method and radio interface accommodate different multiple access schemes, e.g, FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, OFCDM, and IFDMA. Each user data unit is associated with one of several different multiple access techniques that defines how multiple users access communication resources. Each user data unit is processed into discrete samples, where the discrete samples for each user data unit are assigned to one or more respective discrete signal blocks. Discrete samples associated with different multiple access techniques are processed and grouped together into a time slot or packet for transmission over a communication channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2004Publication date: March 9, 2006Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventor: Jiann-Ching Guey

Publication number: 20040190450Abstract: A packet pipe architecture is disclosed for an access network (e.g., provides access to an IP, ATM or similar packet-based network in order to convey packet data traffic), whereby the network interfaces with the packet pipe are standardized so that any packet pipe that satisfies the interface requirements can be utilized in the same access network. Also, the packet pipe uses a packet-based protocol stack with Quality of Service provisions for service delivery instead of the conventional best effort service delivery functions used. Consequently, the packet pipe and access network are capable of providing all of the numerous services available with an IP, ATM or similar packet-based network layered architecture.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2004Publication date: September 30, 2004Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventors: Phillippe Charas, Riccardo Carli, Luigi Ronchetti

Publication number: 20030108000Abstract: A system and method of providing a subscriber service to service users in a telecommunications network. In networks utilizing Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) control signaling for call setup and control, the SIP REGISTER message is modified to indicate service capability information and optionally a traffic load indication for service providers. The REGISTER message is sent to a modified Presence and Instant Messaging (PIM) server that stores presence information and the service capability information for registered service providers. The PIM server then notifies subscribing service users of the identity of the service provider that is registered on the network. The PIM server may utilize the traffic load information to balance the traffic load between service providers by providing users with the identity of the service provider that is the most lightly loaded.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2001Publication date: June 12, 2003Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub1)Inventors: Adam Chaney, Conor Brady, Paul Tidwell

Patent number: 6412003Abstract: A terminal (1, 2) connected to the public telephone network PSTN has access to the Internet-connecting node by dialling a service number. In the access node the server gives the terminal a temporary IP-address and sets up the connection to the area network (15) or to the worldwide Internet (11) offering chargeable services. In order to bind the A-number and the IP-address to each other and thus bill the user for the chargeable services the procedure is as follows: when setting up the connection to the service number, the telephone exchange (4), containing the intelligent network switching functions, informs the intelligent network Service Control Point (SCP) (14) of both the user's (1 or 2 ) A-number and the device location identification (C′) of the telephone exchange (4) from which the connection has been setup to the router (6) entry point in the access node.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1999Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventor: Björn Melen

Publication number: 20010023445Abstract: A method and an arrangement in packet switched networks for flow control is based on information provided in a set-up message for a real-time application. The invention restricts the bandwidth of non real-time application flows in and out of a terminal so that application flows associated with the real-time application are guaranteed a required bandwidth that is derived from the information in the set-up message. The invention thus provides a quick adjustment to new real-time application flows by restricting bandwidth use for non real-time application flows as soon as the set-up message for said real-time application flows is received The invention reduces unnecessary retransmissions of data packets on the non real-time application flows and improves the communication quality for the real-time application at the beginning of a communications session.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2001Publication date: September 20, 2001Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub1)Inventor: Jim Sundqvist

Patent number: 6188138Abstract: This invention belong to a mounting technology for aligning parts, a self-aligned elastic positioning. A problem this invention solves is alignment of parts without using mechanical fine pre-alignment. Wherein one part has elastic bumps, another part has V-grooves and the parts fit into each other. The invention is using elastic material for the bumps to fit the V-grooves. Whereas the bumps are made of elastic material and shaped partly to the V-bumps by moulding. The two parts can slide along in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the surface of the part. The movement in the perpendicular direction can be controlled by an external force. This means that the bumps and V-grooves have good alignment in xy-orientation and are also partial aligned in z-orientation. The elasticity of the bumps allows for thermal expansion differences without stresses to the parts while maintaining high precision alignment at a point.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1997Date of Patent: February 13, 2001Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (pub)Inventors: Peter Bodö, Hjalmar Hesselbom
