  • Patent number: 10708827
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a mobility node for handling a UE which has moved from an old to a new location. The mobility node retrieves UE context from a database. The mobility node determines whether there is a change of mobility node and first gateway at the new location. When there is a change of the first gateway, the mobility node initiates setup of a tunnel between a second gateway and a new first gateway. When there is a change of the mobility node, the mobility node provides a subscriber server with UE context for a new mobility node at the new location. The mobility node transmits updated UE context to the database.

  • Patent number: 10477364
Abstract: According to one aspect of this disclosure, a charging client in a telecommunication network controls, or at least influences, the time over which a granted resource quota is considered valid for use in initiating or continuing a communication session that is subject to online charging control. When sending a given reservation request to a controlling charging server, the charging client indicates the requested timer value. Provided the requested timer value is acceptable to the charging server, the server sends a reservation response that includes a conforming granted timer value, and the charging client times expiration of the granted resource quota according to the granted timer value. In case the reservation response is non-conforming, the charging client decides whether or not to use the granted resource quota. Such operations allow the charging client to tune quota timer values, for example, in dependence on loading at the charging client.

  • Patent number: 7130608
Abstract: A method of using a first communications device, such as a mobile telephone, together with at least one other communications device, such as a telephone, comprises the steps of playing back audio signals in the first communications device, transmitting the same audio signals to the other communications device, and playing back the audio signals in the other communications device. By transmitting the audio signals played back in the first communications device to the other device and playing them back there, shared audio listening is achieved and in this way the communications devices can be used also for the shared listening to e.g. music. Thus it is possible for two persons present at different locations to listen to the same audio signals simultaneously or at least almost simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6865389
Abstract: A Virtual Soft Handover (VSHO) process for high data rate (HDR) applications is disclosed that considers the total number packets remaining to be transmitted prior to initiating the VSHO. An HDR mobile terminal maintains data transmission information relating to an amount of data to be transmitted during a data transfer in progress during a data session. The data transmission information may include, for example, the total packet size of a data transmission and the data transmission status (i.e., the number of packets remaining to be transmitted). The decision of whether to perform a VSHO is made according to the data transmission information. In one embodiment, a VSHO may be deactivated when the number of packets remaining to be transmitted is less than a certain threshold. In other embodiments, a VSHO may not be performed if the total packet size is smaller than a certain threshold.

  • Patent number: 6807424
Abstract: Radio environment statistics data useful in determining frequency plan revisions is collected in each one of a plurality of separate recording periods. Following conclusion of each recording period, a frequency plan revision algorithm is executed to process the collected radio environment statistics data and determine a frequency plan revision for implementation. The collected data that is considered by the algorithm includes not only that data which was collected in a current recording period, but also that data collected in previous recording period(s) thereto. More specifically, only the previous recording period data that is considered reliable is processed by the algorithm along with the current recording period data. Reliable data is identified as that data relating to a measurement made on frequency whose radio environment statistics have not been adversely affected by an implementation of a frequency plan revision in the meantime since making the measurement.

  • Patent number: 6577675
Abstract: Method for separating a mixture of source signals to regain said source signals, said method being based on measured signals. The method being characterized in, that every measured signal is brought to a separation structure comprising cross connected linear filters and subsequent adders, that cross correlation functions between the signals after said adders are calculated for delays k between a first delay K1 and a last delay K2, that a criterion function is used to determine how the linear filters comprised in said separation structure will be designed in every real situation, that said criterion function is formulated as a sum of terms where the addition is extended to all possible cross correlation functions between the output signals of separation structure at all possible delays (k) between K1 and K2, and that each term in said sum has a weight factor and another factor consisting of an even function, f, of a specific cross correlation function at a specific delay.

  • Patent number: 6483838
Abstract: Within an ATM node, a cell handling unit (CHU) receives incoming ATM cells from an ATM switch and provides outgoing ATM cells back to the ATM switch. The cell handling unit consults a combined or consolidated table to obtain ATM parameters (e.g., VCI) for use in headers of outgoing ATM cells. The combined table can be utilized both for ATM cells with AAL2 protocol and ATM cells of a second type AAL protocol. The second type AAL protocol is preferably AAL2 prime, which requires that AAL2 packets carried in the ATM cell payload be whole packets and that the ATM payload not have an AAL2-type start field. The combined table is structured to have plural intervals, including a first interval for AAL2 protocol connections and plural other intervals for the second type AAL protocol connections. Each row for the AAL2 protocol interval associates (1) a unique incoming VCI value; (2) an output link value; (3) an outgoing VCI value; and (4) an offset value.
