Abstract: There is provided a system and method for interactive multi-player broadcast game, the system comprising a plurality of controllers; each controller capable of providing a set of game inputs to a game server in response to the broadcast; wherein the game server is operable to control game play and scoring; the game server further operable to either calculate or receive the latency data associated with each game controller depending on the type of controller and offset the latency during a time-sensitive game play. The above system allows different controllers to be used without biasing against relatively ‘dumb’ controllers such as the Plain Old Telephone (POT). Further, the above system allows massively multiplayer game to be played in the context of an interactive TV broadcast game with POT as controllers.
