  • Patent number: 7889679
Abstract: A system for analyzing a network including a plurality of nodes associated and/or connected together by links. The system includes a processor coupled to a data memory. The processor is configured to access a first representation of the network and associated link weight measures w in the memory. Moreover, the system is configured to provide node values for the nodes and determine from the node values corresponding slope measures for links existing between the nodes, the slope measures being computed from a function of differences in node values and from the weight measures w for the links, the weight measures w being used for scaling the function of differences in nodes values; to select for at least some of the nodes one or more steepest ascent links having one or more greatest positive slope measures; and to generate a second representation corresponding to a steepest ascent graph of the network derived from information included in the steepest ascent links.

  • Patent number: 7881227
Abstract: A method for improved spreading of information in a network is described, together with corresponding methods with the opposite aim, namely to hinder the spreading of harmful information in a network. The harmful information may be (for example) a data virus. The first method includes as its characterizing feature to connect at least one node of high Eigenvector Centrality Index in a first region with at least one node of high Eigenvector Centrality Index in a second region. These connections may be made using direct links, or with the help of a new node lying between the nodes to be connected. One method for preventing spreading of information or physical traffic in a network may include as its characterizing feature to inoculate at least one center node by blocking any transmission of unwanted information on all links in/out of said center node.

  • Patent number: 7690027
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of registering and activation of PKI functionalities in SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards by preprinting a number of sealed envelopes each containing an activation code hidden when unopened and a reference number or code visibly printed on the envelope. The reference number or code and the associated activation code of each envelope are stored in a table in a security server being integrated in or connected to the PKI. The user is provided one of the sealed envelopes together with an application form. The user is requested to fill in the reference code or number on the application form together with personal data, and this is transferred to the PKI and the security server. When the registration is approved by the PKI, approval information is transmitted to the user, requesting him to enter the activation code in his terminal.

  • Publication number: 20090300186
Abstract: A method and a system for establishing communication between an object (200), a user device (100) and a service device (300). The method comprises the steps of transmitting a communication request signal to an object identifier (210) associated with said object (200); and receiving a response signal from said object identifier (210). The response signal includes an identification of said object (200) and information describing a communication capability of said object (200). Further in the method, the communication between the object (200) and the user device (100) is established using this communication capability. Further in the method, a service request signal is transmitted to said service device (300). The service request signal includes information representing an identity of the user device (100) or an identity of the object (200). The service request results in the service device (300) transmitting a service provision signal to the user device (100) or the object (200).

  • Patent number: 7610367
Abstract: A method is capable of being used for determining an ability of a network to spread information or physical traffic. The network includes network nodes interconnected by links. The method comprises steps of: mapping a topology of the network, computing values of link strength between the nodes, computing an eigenvector centrality index for all nodes, and based on examining the eigenvector centrality of all neighboring nodes of each node, identifying nodes which are local maxima of the eigenvector centrality index as centre nodes, grouping the nodes into regions surrounding each identified centre node, assigning a role to each node from its position in a region, as centre nodes, region member nodes, border nodes, bridge nodes, dangler nodes, and measuring the susceptibility of the network to spreading, based on the number of regions, their size, and how they are connected.

  • Publication number: 20080064438
Abstract: A method is described for providing and storing a digital picture acquired with a digital camera embodied on a mobile communication terminal comprising memory, sender and receiver connected to a base station, with a descriptive filename including information of the geographical location of where the picture was taken. This is achieved by sending a trigger signal from the mobile communication terminal initiating a request of location information to the base station when a picture is taken. Based on the mobile communication terminal's location, relevant geographical locations acquired from a map server is presented as suggestions to the user of the mobile communication terminal. The user of the mobile communication terminal chooses a location and a filename is provided for the picture comprising the chosen location name. The picture will then be stored with a descriptive filename.

  • Publication number: 20080039115
Abstract: A cellphone Presence and Locating system includes antenna(s) with associated receiver(s) extracting user information, presence and location data from a plurality of mobile cellphones with a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card containing a low duty cycle transmitter. The transmitter communicates with the SIM processor and extracts user and configuration information. The transmitter broadcast messages containing selected SIM and other information at intervals or on demand. These transmissions are processed by a receiving station, and additional information such as signal strength, time of arrival and direction is extracted. This data is used to determine local presence or a more accurate location within the coverage area and is added to the specific SIM information before being passed on to an information processing server. The information processing server selects relevant prestored files and delivers these to the originating cellphone via a mobile communication network.
