The user is verified by establishing a connection with the user via the electronic contact address. Notification events are established, and the electronic contact address re-verified with the user via the electronic contact address when the notification event occurs. A re-verification code is conveyed to the user, which is returned by the user via an on-line form or telephone entry.

Abstract: A communication number processing system and methods for processing communication numbers or identifiers of various types to prevent fraud in transactions associated with the communication numbers are disclosed. The communication number processing system, in an example embodiment, verifies a communication number by retrieving characteristics data including network-derived characteristics data and/or other attributes relating to the communication number and processing the characteristics data and/or the attributes based on one or more rules. The communication number processing system further generates a fraud score for the communication number. A client system can then use the fraud score to assess a risk associated with engaging in a transaction with a user associated with the communication number.

Abstract: A service call between a service user and a call center for a service provider is established when the service user is contacted or calls into the call center of the service provider. The service provider may request basic account information for verification of the identity of the service user. If the service provider determines that a further verification of the user's identity is necessary, the service provider may send a verification code to the service user via the user communication device. The verification code is relayed back to the service provider. The transmitted verification code and the relayed verification code are compared and if the codes match, the user is authenticated.

Abstract: A frictionless multi-factor authentication system and method (“FMFA system”) that facilitates verification of the identity of a website user, registrant or applicant. The FMFA system reduces or removes the burden on the user by eliminating the additional manual second step traditionally required by two-factor authentication methods, and replacing the second step with an automated authentication step based on the location of a mobile device that is associated with the user. The FMFA system may be utilized for authenticating users to access sensitive data on online accounts, applications and websites, download files, perform online transactions, store information through websites or data stores, or the like. The FMFA system allows registration information obtained from a previously-registered user to authenticate the user on subsequent visits or logins to the website.

A central profile is created for a user which includes user information that can be passed back or otherwise utilized by websites (e.g. for registrations, logins, etc.) The user information may include the user's username, password, contact information, personal information, marketing preferences, financial information, etc. For website registrations, the user may provide a mobile communication number that is utilized to perform a type of mobile communication device verification process. As part of a website login, the user may provide identifiable information (e.g. a username) that is looked up by the system or website to determine a mobile communication number for the user, which is used for a verification process. If the verification process is completed successfully, the user may be logged into the website. For accessing the system directly, a user may go through a mobile communication device verification process.

Abstract: The reputation scoring and reporting system for accounts associated with telephone numbers and maintained in an electronic database includes processing a request for a reputation report corresponding to an account in the database. The request is authenticated via the telephone number associated with the account. A reputation report is then sent to a subscriber in response to an authenticated request. In return, transaction information between the subscriber and entity is associated with the account in the electronic database. The reputation score for the account is calculated in real-time based on the transaction information stored in the electronic database.

Abstract: After receiving a telephone number, various characteristics of the telephone number are determined. These include, the type of phone associated with the telephone number, the phone carrier of the telephone number, and geographic characteristics of the telephone number. This can be done, for instance, by analyzing the telephone connection or querying a database containing a plurality of telephone numbers and characteristics of each of the telephone numbers. The determination may be used to prevent fraudulent or restricted access to a website or system.
