  • Patent number: 4821970
Abstract: An impact crusher rotor comprises radially slotted discs secured to a shaft at axially spaced intervals and hammer bars releasably secured in the disc slots. A backup bar secured in a slot in every disc provides a keyed connection with a hammer bar, at its rear, and a wedge in the slot maintains the hammer bar engaged against the backing bar with a force that increases with rotor speed. Each wedge can be established in an initial locking position by a screw that has its length radial to the rotor axis, has a threaded connection with the wedge, and has an end reacting against a bottom disc surface defined by the slot. Each wedge is confined to radial motion relative to the disc by a U-shaped shoe which straddles the disc periphery and is releasably fixed to the disc and which also protects a portion of the disc periphery that is in front of the hammer bar.

  • Patent number: 4795552
Abstract: A horizontal vibrating multi-deck screen apparatus for separating different sizes of materials of generally the same type. The apparatus includes a first or upper screening basket and a second or lower screening basket. The upper screening basket has a feed chute at one end and a discharge chute at the opposite end. Each screening basket has at least one screen deck thereon for conveying and screening material. The two baskets are connected by a spring-type coupling system, including coil springs and fiberglass leaf springs. The two baskets together are supported by known types of support spring systems installed between the upper basket only and a base frame. Hence each basket constitutes one mass and each spring system one spring of a two-mass two-spring system. A pair of shaker motors mounted directly, one on each side, on the lower basket inputs a straight-line sinusoidal exciting force to the system. The exciting force and the spring forces are transmitted to both baskets and induce vibrations.

  • Patent number: 4783013
Abstract: The invention relates to a jaw crusher wherein shims behind a toggle beam define various positions of its fore-and-aft adjustment along way slots in which its end portions are guided, and wherein the toggle beam is shifted forwardly away from the shims and rearwardly towards them by a pair of hydraulic rams, each connected between the housing and an end of the toggle beam. At each end the toggle beam has a forwardly-downwardly inclined surface slidingly overlain by a wedging member that cooperates with the upper surface of the adjacent way slot to wedgingly prevent forward shifting of the toggle beam and confine it against the lower surfaces of the way slots. Each ram has link connections with the toggle beam and with a wedging member whereby the latter is pulled forward out of wedging relationship before the toggle beam is shifted forward and is pushed back to wedging condition after the toggle beam engages the shims.
