  • Patent number: 6249558
Abstract: Before digital data impulses are transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver that includes a data acquisition signal generator, at least one synchronizing impulse (syn1, . . . ) is transmitted for synchronizing the transmitter with the receiver with regard to a sync frequency that is repeatedly updated to provide a current accepted sync frequency. The at least one synchronizing impulse and the data impulses are Manchester encoded which combines timing (synchronizing) and data signals. An impulse flank change occurring centrally in an impulse width is used as a synchronization point of time. Stepping pulses occurring between two consecutive synchronization points of time are counted and the resulting count is used to determine the sync frequency in response to the occurrence of a synchronizing impulse and at a synchronization point of time. A time shift or delay occurs between data impulses and synchronization points of time.

  • Patent number: 6086177
Abstract: A process for controlling the closing movement of closing mechanisms with at least one electromotive part includes the following features to guarantee squeeze protection: the measured values of at least one motor performance characteristic which characterizes the load on the electric motor, are continuously recorded and evaluated, a continuously adapted tripping threshold defining a squeezing incident is specified for each motor performance characteristic, the measured values of each motor performance characteristic are compared with each tripping threshold and, if the tripping threshold is exceeded by at least one measured value, a defined reaction is initiated from the closing mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 6028371
Abstract: A process and a mechanism for the direction-selective triggering of a passive safety device in a vehicle, with at least two acceleration transducers, where the acceleration transducers have directional sensitive axes and these have actual instantaneous orientations and are aligned in different, preferably specified reference orientations and there is an angle tolerance between the reference and the instantaneous orientations of the sensitive axes. An evaluation device is provided to correct the angle tolerance, comprising an electronic circuit which converts the signals (am 1, am 2, . . . am n) coming from the acceleration transducers to corrected output signals (a(I), a(II), . . . a(n)), which are linear combinations of the incoming signals with adjustable factors c.sub.ij : ##EQU1## This can lessen the expense of production compared to familiar mechanisms, without simultaneously reducing the measuring accuracy of the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6016253
Abstract: According to known methods, several circuit board pieces in a three-dimensional arrangement of an electronic module are connected together electrically by the film connectors and arranged around an operator control or actuator element in the three-dimensional form. The assembly of such modules is, however, very costly because the circuit boards must all be fastened mechanically. By using film connectors with greater stiffness, circuit board pieces can be held over these directly without additional mechanical securing devices and the three-dimensional circuit board arrangement can be secured by appropriate securing devices in the three-dimensional form. A preferred application is for electronic modules with operator control and/or actuator elements where the space available is very limited, in particular for modules fitted in motor vehicles.
