Patent number: 7795536Abstract: A cable for the ultra high-speed communication of high-frequency signals. The cable includes a longitudinal conductor and an insulator sheath at least partially covering the longitudinal conductor. The cable further includes an inner conductive sheath disposed about an outer periphery of the insulator sheath and an outer insulator jacket disposed about an outer periphery of the inner conductive sheath. The insulator sheath is manufactured from a high-purity fluorinated ethylene propylene.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2008Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: Temp-Flex Cable, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth Plourde, Ronald Poklemba, Jeffrey Gasek

Publication number: 20070113911Abstract: A multi-lumen miniature ribbon tube is generally flat in overall shape, and includes a number of generally parallel, longitudinal lumens arranged sequentially. Each lumen includes a tubular polymer sidewall defining a separate longitudinal fluid passageway. (Here, “lumen” refers to a sidewall and passageway in combination.) The lumens are integrally formed, but may be frangible from one another. The sidewall may be made of FEP or ETFE. The ribbon tube may be as wide as 3.5 inches, and each lumen has a passageway diameter of 0.005 to 0.050 inches. Using minimum dimensions, a 3.5-inch wide ribbon tube has more than 200 lumens, each of which provides a separate fluid passageway. This enables a multiplicity of fluids to be delivered to one location. Additionally, because the lumens are frangible, one or more fluids may be delivered to multiple localized locations by separating the lumens proximate the tubing's end.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2005Publication date: May 24, 2007Applicant: Temp-Flex Cable, Inc.Inventors: Ronald Poklemba, Kenneth Plourde, Kristopher Lower

Patent number: 6812401Abstract: A cable for transmitting electromagnetic signals has a central conductor. A pair of insulator filaments, each having a circular cross section, are twisted around each other to form an insulator wrap. The insulator wrap is helically wound around the conductor. An insulator sheath, provided as an outer cover for the cable, surrounds the wrapped central conductor and is supported by the insulator wrap. Since the insulator sheath is offset from the conductor, an enclosed air space is formed between the sheath and the conductor in the spaces not occupied by the insulator wrap. The twist pitch of the filaments and the pitch of the wrap around the conductor can both be modified to adjust the amount of insulator material located in the air space and thereby the cable's effective dielectric constant, which effects the propagation speed of the electromagnetic signals carried by the cable.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2004Date of Patent: November 2, 2004Assignee: Temp-Flex Cable, Inc.Inventor: David E. Patent number: 5304741Abstract: A ribbon connector for use in an audio system as a speaker cable. The ribbon connector comprises two sets of flat conductors encapsulated in fluorinated ethylene polypropylene. Each of the sets is spaced apart from one another by a median strip of insulation. The median strip has a width greater than the thickness of the insulation between adjacent conductors in a set. This allows the sets to be separated from one another when a terminal is placed on each set. The conductors of a set function as a single conductor in that when used they are joined to a single terminal. The ribbon connector has enhanced capacitance and inductance characteristics compared to round twisted wire conductors.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1992Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Assignee: Temp-Flex Cable, Inc.Inventor: Robert A.
