Abstract: A cooling support cushion and method of forming same is provided. In particular, the present cooling support cushions and methods of producing the same make use of a plurality of surface coatings to a base layer to provide an extended cooling effect. The surface coating may be mixed and applied or may be applied as separated layers.

Abstract: A washable pillow comprising of a molded foam core with antimicrobial resistance encased in a washable netting and a sleeve. The pillow may be washed and dried using conventional household methods without significant damage or loss of mechanical properties.

Abstract: An adjustable base is provided that includes a fixed frame and an articulating frame connected to the fixed frame. The articulating frame includes an upper body frame pivotally connected to the upper section of the fixed frame, a seat frame pivotally connected to the upper body frame and movable along a central section of the fixed frame, and a leg frame pivotally connected to the fixed frame. An actuator is further included and has a first end connected to the seat frame adjacent to the leg frame and a second end that is connected to a linkage attached to the articulating frame. Upon activation of the actuator, the upper body frame is articulated upward and the seat frame moves linearly along the central section of the fixed frame toward the upper section of the fixed frame. Systems and methods for controlling an adjustable base assembly are further provided.

The support cushion includes a base layer having a lower surface and an upper surface, and a plurality of surface coatings positioned atop the upper surface of the base layer, the plurality of surface coatings configured to allow an amount of air to flow through the base layer and the plurality of surface coatings, and the plurality of surface coatings further configured to provide a cooling effect. The method of producing a support cushion includes the steps of providing a base layer having a lower surface and an upper surface; applying a plurality of surface coatings to the upper surface of the base layer, the plurality of surface coatings configured to allow an amount of air to flow through the base layer and the plurality of surface coatings and further configured to provide a cooling effect.
